We found paradise at Curtin Bluff. Our Jr. Suite was spacious, comfortable, nicely furnished, well maintained, and spotless. The bathroom is the size of a boutique hotel's sleeping area. Our patio was on the beach and a few steps from the water.
The grounds have beautiful lush plantings that create a garden environment. The beach is never crowded and there is a selection of chairs at all times, most with hugh wooden umbrellas for shade.

The quality of meals ws equal to a top New York restaurant., a remarkable achievement for an all inclusive resort.
The friendly but quiet atmoshpere is condusive to complete relaxation. The owners are always around with a friendly hello.
At Curtin Bluff the only needs not meet are those that are not verbalized.

We travel frequently and stay at 5 star hotels. Curtin Bluff met all of our expectations and belongs in the elite group of top hotels.

I cant believe the report slating this hotel, did he really stay here ? or perhaps he is one of lifes moaners.

I have been fortunate enough to stay at some of the owrlds best hotels and put Curtain Bluff right up there with them and in terms of value for money i would say it exceeds them.

We had a junior suitethat leads straight onto the beach, the room had a large bathroom and a nice balcony on the beach.
We were asked what drinks we would like our fridge stocked with and this was replenished whenever we requested it to be.

To those who have reservations about an all inclusive resort don't worry, this is not a burger and fries type of set up. The day time beach restaurant is excellent with a buffet and lunch menu to order from. The evening meals are a la carte of the very highest standards.

The beach is fabulous with agreat choice of watersports which are all free including the deep sea fishing and scuba diving. There are also various other sports available around the beach area. The 4 tennis courts are great quality and were always available. The gym is slightly dated but is being refitted this summer,

All in all this was an excellent hotel and we plan to go back next year which is a rareity for us. The hotel is not super modern like carlisle bay but is half the price, we find that the rustic charm of the hotel adds to its qualities,

“Worst Trip Of My Life”

Curtain Bluff Resort

I will begin from the top. Driving to the facility was less than desirable. Between the homes and the homeless roaming the street, I didnt feel the safest. Directly next door to the resort appears to be tenaments and broken down shacks. i did not exactly feel safe at this resort due to what directly was surrounding, in addition to the no locking of the door policy when you're not in the room. I think this policy is absolutely ridiculous! I want my room locked, safe in the room or not, when I am and am not in it! The walk to the room was another pitfall to this trip. Walking up stairs outdoors in the humidity with about a million gecco's running across my feet was truly undesirable. There was a gecco in my room. Not exactly what i want to wake up too! For the room--no air that circulated to the bathroom, old blankets that couldnt keep you warm, uncomfortable mattress and pillows where i woke up with pain thru out my whole body and im only 31 in great shape, rust all over the faucets and drains, old furniture, minimal shower pressure and the shower knob came off in my hand....the list goes on, but you get my point! There is one dining facility--now bear in mind, this is an outdoor hotel....there is no air...the humidity is ridiculous and if it rains u must walk in the rain to get dinner...at least they supply an umbrella....but when its pouring, its not optimal to leave your room after getting ready to walk in the rain to sit in a outdoor food area, tent or not! I ordered breakfast to the room the night before and it never came! The lunch was a buffet due to the rain with a long line and the selection was not up to par or for my taste. I am well traveled and have eaten in the best restaurants in the world. I was truly disappointed by this aspect! There is no night life. A small band plays by the dining hall and theres a library to read and thats it! I was bored and in bed at 10pm. I wish i couldve watched tv in my room or surfed the web. Yet another drawback of curtain bluff, no tv or internet access in the room. You must watch tv with a bunch of strangers and forget picking your channel if you get there late. So we were there for a day and left the next, it was that unbearable. I dont recommend this place unless they do some serious reonvations and updating and cater to a crowd under the age of 65.

My husband and I chose this hotel after seeing a number of good reviews on TripAdvisor and we weren't disappointed. We stayed in an Executive room on the Bluff which was well furnished and spacious enough that we could quite happily spend an afternoon slouching round the room and on the balcony reading. The food was excellent and we stayed a full week and weren't tempted to go elsewhere to eat (a first for us). The main beach was well maintained and had good facilities, there was a decent pool and a number of tennis courts should you be that way inclined. The only slight criticism is that the some of the equipment in the small gym could have done with an overhaul. At our time of staying the hotel was one-half to two-thirds full and the service was fantastic.

“Wonderful place”

Curtain Bluff Resort

Recently retunred from a break at Curtain Bluff in Antigua, where myself, my wife and 6 month old son had a fantastic time.
We had our concerns about taking our son, especially after reading one review, but the hotel staff were fantastic, 100% accomodating and they simply could not do enough for us.
From the very moment we arrived we we greeted by friendly faces, who loved the fact we had our son with us, and they simply went out of their way to help in any way possible.

Rooms:
We stayed in an Executive Deluxe room on the Bluff, which really suited our needs, as the main bedroom/living area was quite spacious (even with the cot they provided in it), as it housed a huge bed, large sofa, and the usual chairs, fridge/mini bar etc.
The balcony overlooking the bluff was fantastic, and spacious too. Some items of the decor in the room may have been a little tired, but overall we loved the colonial feel to the rooms.
As this was our first time as Curtain Bluff we were unsure what type of room to book, but having looked around the Junior Suite and the Executive Suites, I think we made the right choice this time.

Dining:
The overall eating experience at Curtain Bluff was excellent, from a good choice at Breakfast, to the informal lunch served at the beach bar (either Buffet that changed daily, or from the Menu), right through to the 5 course dinner in the main area. The food was excellent, and the service first class, with the staff helping with our Son, being friendly yet polite and courteous.
Room service was excellent also on the evenings we decided to dine in our room.
What was a really nice 'touch' was the fact that the owners, Michelle and Howard, dine 'with the guests' at all 3 meal times, not in your face, but relaxed, and they always came over to say hello. Lovely people.
On top of this, afternoon tea is a nice touch, and pre-dinner drinks are also a must.

Beaches:
First class. Calm, uncluttered and clean, with excellent service from the bar staff, an array of activities are available (most FOC), and the Pool is also excellent.

Fitness / Spa:
Made good use of both, with the Gym / Fitness Centre offering standard cardio workout options, together with free-weights and weight machines. Yoga on the deck outside the gym was also a must and I recommend.
The new Spa is first class, you have to sample a treatment there, with views over the sea it is very tranquil.
There are other activites also available, that we did not try, such as Tennis, Squash, Pilates.....but we will be trying them all next year!

Overall, we had a lovely time, and we aim to return next year, which is unheard of for us as we never return to the same place twice normally.
Having stayed at some first class AI resorts (One & Only resorts mostly), this resort was first class. Not in the same 'class' as some of the One & Only's, but not as 'stuffy' either, and we loved the friendly, family feel to the place.
The staff are great, all of them, from waiters and bar staff, to the concierge and management team (who really did go the extra mile for us), to the cleaning team, and all of them were just so friendly.
If you are looking for luxury in a beautiful, friendly environment, good food, great beaches, lots to do for all the family, then this place has to be top of your list.
