This was our second favorite beach (Rendevous was our fist because it was close to where we were staying and calm) and I feel represents all that Anguilla is: a quite, beautiful location with easily accessible food (in this case, Smokey's).
We parked and despite dodging a bit of garbage and dog poop on the walk to get to the beach, decided to walk down to the western edge of the beach, we passed only one couple who's bare breasted enthusiasm for the sun and privacy didn't seem affected by our passing by. We settled in a ways down the beach (No, I'm not the letch-type and my wife is a 10 anyway!) and did our best to make like seaweed and float in the water for about 45 minutes.
After a couple of hours we migrated to Smokeys and had a reasonably good meal with a band playing to the other 4 people there. The Reggea music, althoug a bit loud had such a hauntingly Carribean feel that I think I actually had goosebumps in the 90 degree plus heat as my body purged everly last bit of cold New England out of me and succombed to the essense of Anguilla.
