My husband and I visited the beautiful Island of Anguilla the first week of August. It was our first time to Anguilla and found this gem in the Caribbean by an accident when we were looking for vacation spots with golfing.
WOW what a vacation we had! I can’t say enough positive things about the Cuisinart Resort. We totally fell in love with Cuisinart and can’t wait to go back.
We have traveled to several Caribbean resorts in the past but nothing is as gorgeous and secluded as Cuisinart is. Don't stay here if you are looking for a loud music and long nights of dancing. We came here to RELAX, eat well, and enjoy one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen. That's why Anguilla is a secret destination to many.
We flew to St Martin and took a Fun Time Ferry over to Anguilla (about $60 per person each way) I highly recommend it as the port is only a few minutes from the airport and the staff helps you with your immigration papers, customs and your suitcases. The 45 min ride to Anguilla was pretty enjoyable. As soon as we arrived at the resort, you don't need to worry about your suitcases and heavy bags as the staff makes sure your bags are brought to your room. As soon as we arrived, we met the GM, received welcome drinks and had our first lunch on the beach.
The beach was BREATH TAKING!!! I could not wait to jump into the tortoise clear warm water and relax on this gorgeous beach with warm, white soft sand. I have never seen a more beautiful place! It might get a bit windy on the beach but that what makes it tolerable to stay on the beach the whole day. We also enjoyed the long walks along the beach admiring the views!
The resort is nicely situated and overlooks the hilly St. Martin. There is a golf course towards the west and The Great House of Anguilla 10 min of walking towards the east. I could not get enough of the beach. The friendly and helpful staff helps you set up the umbrella and lay towels down for you. There is a cooler with cold water and more towels for your use every day. At your request they bring you drinks from the bar and there are complimentary sorbets in the afternoon. We felt like we have found a true PARADISE!!!
We stayed at Junior Suite in building #7 and the VIEW!!! I must have taken dozens of pics from our balcony. The rooms are so spacious with a nice walk in closet for all your suitcases and golf clubs. You are literally a few steps away from the beach! The housekeeping service was excellent! Everything was always spotless, clean towels, more bottles of water in the room. We could not ask for more. The bathroom was so pretty, with a big bath tub and a beautiful shower. I am a big fan on cleaning and must admit everything was clean and spotless. We would return from dinner to our room to a music playing quietly, a made up bed and a bathroom with clean towels. The products in the bathroom are great; we especially enjoyed the almond soap bar.
We loved the peace, quiet and privacy the resort has to offer. We slept with the balcony doors open (there is screen) to a melody of the waves...heaven!!! We didn’t hear our neighbors at all during our stay!
We appreciated the complimentary breakfast buffet. There was a plenty to choose from and the service was excellent! We tried all the restaurants on the resort and our favorite was SANTORINI for dinner and Mediterraneo for lunch. Several times we ate at the lobby that served delicious lunch/dinner (definitely try the Mahi Mahi Burger and Quesadillas for lunch). We ate twice at Italia and enjoyed it as well. As for Tokyo Bay - excellent and a new beautiful addition to Cuisinart restaurants (1st Japanese restaurant on the Island) and while the food was yummy, we found the portions extremely small and prices extremely high for what you get.
I also visited the VENUS SPA and I highly recommend it. The staff and services are excellent! I got a European/Seaweed Facial and a pedicure and loved it. The spa is so beautiful and clean with many services to offer. It’s a must! :-)
My Husband enjoyed the complimentary shuttle to the golf course on almost a daily basis. If you stay at Cuisinart you should not miss playing or visiting the golf course. Italia at the course is an amazing place to eat lunch and dinner and my husband surely enjoyed the challenging Greg Norman golf course. He said the second and tenth holes were two on the most beautiful he has played! They both overlook the sea and the mountains over on St. Martin.
We found all the staff at Cuisinart extremely friendly and helpful. We loved the fact that we went there in the off season to avoid crowds. I could not brag more about Cuisinart. It is definitely worth renting a car and exploring the island on your own. We could not miss visiting the Shoal Bay Beach which was breathtaking as well. The 2 for 1 Happy Hour at the beach bar is a must too! Sam serves excellent frozen drinks and cocktails.
We were so pleased with our stay that we cannot wait to go back!!!! I have already done some research for our next vacation and I don't think I will find anything that will top Cuisinart Resort & Spa. We had absolutely the BEST vacation!! Thank you to all the staff that made our stay pleasant and comfortable. I highly recommend visiting this gorgeous resort.
Even if after reading my review, you are still not convinced about visiting this paradise: Check out my pics! They speak for themselves! :-)
