How very odd. The place is just the same except a lot of investment in the upgrading of the steps, car park etc is noticeable. The setting is still idyllic, the proprietor and his staff still amazing but the food has gone from excellent to nearly OK. I am amazed and feel something must have happened to see the standard drop so suddenly. The prices have also increased dramatically and the new printed menus are a little alarming inasmuch as they offer a 25 euro menu and a 35 euro menu and a la carte but with very limited choice on the fixed price menus. It was never thus. The breakfast menu has also changed and although we never had cooked breakfast in the past they now charge. The wine has also increased in price so it is all a bit disappointing. I would love to know whether the Accountants have been in and made their recommendations which may be the answer. It does not matter really because you can always eat out very reasonably but I just wish they had left the place as it was.
