“The perfect weekend”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 3, 2013

Have just returned from 2 nights here and had a wonderful stay. The room (room 2) was amazing - just the right mix of luxurious, relaxing and modern and the service was exceptional. We felt very looked after without feeling intruded upon. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and Charlie in particular was incredibly helpful and accommodating. We arrived quite late and later than had been expected but were still able to order some food and didn't feel any pressure to get there by a certain time. In fact some other guests arrived after midnight and were given the same warm welcome. The food at At The Chapel is also excellent. The breakfast although simple was really nice and the lunches that we had there were very tasty - the roast pork I had was one of the nicest roasts I have ever eaten! I can't compliment At The Chapel enough - the whole weekend was wonderful and I can't wait to return.

Room Tip: Room 2 has an amazing bathroom and the windows are something else.

A fabulous place to stay or just have dinner. Every single experience exceeded our expectations... The service, the food, the accommodations (Room #2), the wine list, the everything. Everyone made us feel very welcome with special thanks to Charlie and Jules. The owners are a pleasure to talk to and very engaging. We went to school there 35 years ago and not much had changed but this shining star on the High Street. Will absolutely be going back and the sooner the better. Thank you for making it such a memorable stay.

I cannot compliment The Chapel enough. A group of ladies turned up for an evening out in December and were given a real treat.
The welcome ……fabulous
The staff………impeccable (and charming)
The food …………incredible
The venue…………not close enough to Taunton for me!!!!!

If you want to an amazing night with a plethora of menu choices on both food £ & wine this is the place for you.

If you do one thing in 2013 treat yourselves to a night out at The Chapel.

We stayed at the chapel for one night this weekend and it was even better than we expected. We had room 2 and it was so lovely. The windows are amazing and you can leave the curtains open to enjoy them and still have privacy.
The bathroom is very chic, grey marble with a huge bath and separate shower. I love Ren products so they are a real treat. Rooms have smart tv, underfloor heating, complimentary water. Bed linen and towels very high standard.
The breakfast tray brought to your room is very tasty, fresh croissants with butter and jam.
Well worth the price and received a bottle of prosecco through booking with i escape.
Will definitely return!
Welldone to everyone there, you have created a great experience to be proud of !!

We booked At The Chapel for 3 nights in October. We stayed in Room 4 up in the 'Attic' - beautiful wooden beams, kingsize bed, huge TV (including i-pod dock), very well-stocked mini-fridge, amazing croissants and jam outside the door every morning (baked downstairs), and wonderfully big shower room. It is a small room, as is reflected in the price, and the fact that this is at the very top of the building means that one side of the bed has less 'headspace', so tall visitors may struggle... The room really was extremely comfortable and finished to a very high standard, and the restaurant itself was excellent.

However, the really special thing about At The Chapel and Bruton itself are the people. We experienced superb customer service from all the staff there (Charlie, Hannah, Jules, Briony...), but this then seemed to extend to everyone else in Bruton from the Antiques shop a few doors down, to the Bruton Castle pub just across the road, as well as the wonderful Bull Inn at Hardwick (5 minute drive).

All in all, we left feeling very relaxed and spoilt.

Room Tip: Room 4 would not suit very tall visitors due to sloping ceiling (in the attic)

We stayed in room 2 for one night. What can i say. The room is uber trendy and decorated with fine attention to detail. Equipt with a great Smart Samsung TV and luxurious bed and linen. The room comes equipt with individual cafetierres and Teapigs teabags. There is a small and very reasonably priced mini bar with free still and sparkling water.

Room 2 has an awesomely stunning church window with ornate origional features including beautiful vintage radiators.Beautiful artwork ordaned the walls with a book detailling the artist to peruse at our leisure - a cute little touch.

The bathrom -oh my days this was devine. A huge marble shower we could have had a party in it was that big. A lovely deep free standing bath was also a very welcome addition. Toiletries provided by Ren. What more could you ask for?

We ate in the restaurant for our lunch and dinner - can highly reccomend the pigeon and the steak...oh and the pizza's cooked onsite in the bakery tasted devine.

The downstairs bar is cosy and displayed some stunning pieces of art. Customer service with exceptional - couldn't fault it.

The only thing i will say is that as this room is at the front of the house it can be quite noisy, however it didnt bother us too much and we had a great nights sleep.

We loved it and couldnt reccomend it highly enough!

Room Tip: We booked ours via i-escapes and got a free bottle of prosecco on arrival

Room 2 was beautifully furnished with an excellent entertainment system - perfect for watching the Olympics opening ceremony. The bathroom was just divine and the service and food were faultless. Just wish we could have stayed for more than one night.
