“One of the best among the similar class and for similar cost”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2010

I learned that management has changed in may 2010, New management is really after customer satisfaction and do their best for quality and warm accomadation. I heard and read that prior years management- old management harmed the hotel reputation. But now
this is a very clean and friendly hotel to stay at. I found it to be very satisfactory especially compared to some of the other same class hotels I have stayed at. The pool is cleaned without fail everyday early in the morning and the pool area is scrubbed down. The reception staff and housekeeping are very friendly and enough staff do speak working English. Room is cleaned in every day, there is almost always warm/hot water in the rooms whether you have gone to have a shower in the afternoon or in the evening. The beds are very comfortable and there is air conditioning in the room, which works properly.

I just thought i would add a little review of this Hotel. I didnt actually stay at the hotel but i used the pool area and restaurant every day as we were staying in an apartment futher out of Altinkum.

The Pool area was gorgeous, it was always clean and managed well by the staff, (when we had water fights everyday with the little kids!). We were never out of the pool! The toilets in the hotel were also very clean and the staff could not do any more for us!

The pool bar and restaurant was also lovely, drinks were a good price and snacks were very reasonable aswell, weather you wanted a quick sandwich or a kebab!

The Hotel is also in a very good location, only a 2 minute walk to dolphin square and 20 seconds away from Characters and Churchills Bars!

Next year when i visit Altinkum i will be definately using the facilities of the Avsar Hotel, thanks to Jack for the Entertainment and the vodka and red bulls!!!!

Where do I start, we booked this hotel for a quiet weeks holiday fully inclusive, and from what was advertised it looked really nice. Well - the food was take it or leave it no buffet style, the tables weren't cleaned, the rooms, toilets weren't cleaned we had to ask for our towels to be changed, we had to ask for toilet roll as we had none. In fact there was nothing being cleaned. The people running this hell hole were probably about teenager age and the reception was being treated like a doss house, with obviously their friends sleeping on the sofas there. The balcony looked on to a rubbish tip. Really I could go on and on in fact there are no redeeming factors about this Hotel from Hell, in fact its probably too awful to even get on that show. DO NOT STAY HERE EVER.

I booked an all inclusive holiday to the Avsar hotel for the summer. It was my fourth trip to Turkey as I had backpacked around and also stayed in Altinkum in previous years. Unfortunately this hotel was advertised as all inclusive with buffet meals, snacks and drinks. This was not the case and after a week of trying to complain and sort things out,, we basically had to live with it. I came down with food poisoning in the first week of beig there and 2 other members of staff were off sick at the same time. I then asked my partner to order lunch so I could get video evidence of the poor standard of the food. The next day he came down with food poisoning. The bread was passed out to all holiday makers and if they didn't eat it, it was returned for the next guest. Your all inclusive meal was on a plate and if you didn't want that there was nothing else. Our room was cleaned 3 times in the fortnight and when this happened our towels were taken and not replaced. The toilet bin was not cleaned everyday and I'm not sure when the room last saw a hoover.
This is a very basic hotel, advertised in many places as a 3 star or 3 sun hotel. It was far from this.

We were booked into this hotel from the 20th to the 30th Sept.2008. It was supposed to be all inclusive. More like eat what you're given. It was dirty everywhere in hotel, and not much hot water, more like a hostel for the needy. The staff were dirty in appearance and did not speak english, and it was like a turkish boys playground in reception and pool area's. Obviously, friends of staff. Staff & friends were drunk at every oppurtunity. We did not feel safe.

This is a very clean and friendly hotel to stay at. We've been staying at this hotel on and off since 1995 and have always found it to be very satisfactory especially compared to some of the other hotels we have stayed at. The pool is cleaned without fail everyday at 6.30pm and the pool area is scrubbed down. The reception staff and housekeeping are very friendly and many of the staff do speak very good English. We have stayed at the hotel about 6 times and have been happy every time. Our cleaning lady comes in every day, there is almost always warm/hot water in the rooms whether you have gone to have a shower in the afternoon or in the evening. The beds are very comfortable although the pillows can be a little hard and there is air conditioning in every room, which actually works! I generally love Turkey and this is a shinning example - please don't let bad reviews put you off! Personally I think it is the best hotel we have stayed at and all I can say is if the bars are a little to loud, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em!!! Enjoy your holiday...

We have recently returned from a 2 week stay at the Avsar Hotel in Altinkum and would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Our room was facing the front of the hotel, where you will find 3 bars on a street tucked 10 mins away from the square. The noise on the first night from one of these bars was absolutely deafening and carried on until 4.00am, so next day we moved to a quieter room, (facing the back of the hotel). In 14 days we managed to have 4 warm showers as the water was always cold. By the end of the week 1, we discovered that the reason everyone left the pool area at 4.00pm was to race to the shower to get the hot water. but you were not always lucky, especially if you were out or at the beach all day, the reason that there was possibility of hot water at 4pm was because the owners would release only one of the tanks at this time. My husband ended up going to the barbers to pay for shaves and by the end of week 1 we had an army of flies following us around. It got to the point when we didn't bother having a shower, which is not nice when you have been swimming in the sea or the pool etc. On day 11 we then found out from a guest who has been coming here for 12 years(why we don't know) that if you want to have some hot water for a shower outside of this time you have to to ask them to switch the hot water on as they do not like to waste the tanks!!! We were absolutely gobsmacked and not impressed. We were not made aware of this when we arrived. The cleanliness of the room was disgusting, even for a 2 star there is no excuse. Towels weren't always changed, and started to smell, the bin that you have to use to put your soiled toilet paper in was not always emptied and was never rinsed out, I had to ask them to clean the bathroom floor as it was black with dirt for more than 5 days. Our bed sheets were not changed once in our stay here, and our carpet was never swept or hoovered. Cleaners came at erratic times, so if you were still in bed you'd still get them banging on the door shouting for rubbish and the toilet bin. Breakfast, okay at first, but a little dull having the same thing every morning for 2 weeks. A boiled egg, slice of tomato, cucumber, feta cheese, small sachet of Jam, butter, honey and cheese spread, 4 olives and a whole baguette. We ended up with tummy ache after so we ate out 5 times. On the last day we looked at the dates on the sachets and they were all out of date by 2 months, plus the eggs were left out all morning and not refriegerated. The staff were unfriendly, spoke very little english and were not interested or bothered.
