If you can brave the landlord's unusual manner and the landladys abrupt manner, this is the pub to experience good food and friendly locals. It is wise to be on your best behaviour, no spilling your drinks or being cheeky ....... that is the landlords privilege !!
The food is tasty and homemade and good value, it is the kind of pub that most villages would prefer more than Gastro pubs, but it does have an individual character, that hardy explorers should not miss.
As we have only used the pub for lunches we cannot comment on the evening fare or ambiance but walkers will not be disappointed if they stop for refreshments in this establishment. The locals enjoy chatting and making you feel welcome, which more than compensates for times when management is in a grumpy mood !!
