We arrived after being collected from the airport and were allocated a twin room, not the king room we were expecting. We managed to push the beds together but they were different heights which wasn’t so clever! After 2 nights we were having problems in the room, the TV had ceased to work, the shower water was not draining from the bath, I had stayed at the hotel 7 years ago and it was pretty apparent that no maintenance has been carried out on the rooms during that time! The manager moved us to a suite room, which was much larger and had a lovely comfortable king sized four poster bed, but was still looking a bit tired, the bathroom was extremely dated.
We stayed on an all inclusive basis, the food was generally ok, although we didn’t think much of the breakfast selection, (we’ve never seen tagliatelle with prawns for brekkie before?!?!) preferring instead to order from the snack menu after 10am.
The staff however are the highlight of this place, many of them had been working there when I stayed 7 years ago, which says a lot for the place, we found almost without exception that the staff were super friendly, helpful and would be happy to help you in any way they could.
On our last evening we returned to our room to find a deluge, we assumed wrongly that the water was leaking down through the ceiling, but no it was actually coming up through the bathroom floor, as we were leaving the following day we did not want to change rooms, so instead we were supplied with 4 changes of towels to keep the flooding at bay. The manager spoke to us prior to us leaving to apologise for the maintenance issues we’d had, we just hope that he takes the issues seriously and gets the go ahead to update the rooms in the near future.
