“Nice Hotel and Great Staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2009

Stayed here for 6 nights in September. On arrival one of the concierge came to greet us and take our bags from the taxi. We went to reception to check in. We had arrived early (12:30pm) and was told that we wouldn't be able to get to our room until 14:00pm as that was the check in time. We were given cold towels and a nice fruity drink. Check in was very informative and the lady was very helpful. We were told we could use any of the facilities if we wished to do so and could leave our bags with the concierge. WE decided to drink a bintandg in reception and wait a little. But after about 30 mins, the lady told us our room was ready early which was nice surprise.
We got to our room and were very happy, it was extremely clean and also looked newly refurbished. We then went to explore the surroundings.
The pool is big enough for the amount of people who where there at the time. We had no problems finding somewhere to sit at any time of the day. The sun moves around a bit so during the afternoon if you like the sun, you should sit near the spa end as the sun is here all day. Towels are also free to use from the hotel at both pools.
Food wise, we ate in the Tao which was really nice Asian style food at a reasonable price. Its nice to sit inside or out as theres a nice breeze there most of the day and evening. As for breakfast, there is a huge choice from Asian style noodles, rice and the full English or American pancakes and eggs cooked to your liking. Along with salads, fruits, cold meats and cheese, cakes and pastries. The hotel also have some theme nices, one was a bbq with Balanese Dancing. There was a large buffet of salads, vegetables, noodles, rice, desserts etc and a free drink. As for the meats you could choose your fish from a selection and also they frehsly bbq'd some meats too. All you can eat! I think it was about £10-12 per person.
The hotel gardens are nice and well maintained and there is a business centre with internet for use (although we had trouble printing). Also a pool table, table tennis and mini football table, tennis, badminton free to use and the equipment is always there when you want it.
In the rooms there is a mini bar with drinks in and you get 2 small bottles of water per day free. The mini bar is reasonably priced. However, if you wish to save some cash then as you leave the hotel, if you turn left about 5 meters or so is a small shop that sells soft drinks, beers and snacks such as crisps and nuts. A small Bintang is 10,000 and large bottles are 18,0000. I think the hotel bar do small bottles for 24,000. Also large bottles of water here are also about 3,000.
If you turn right and walk along the road for 15-20 mins there are quite a fews shops, supermarkets and some places to eat and other big hotels with restaurants. Alternatively you can get a taxi from the hotel for about 30-35,000 to the Bali Collection or a free shuttle from the hotel (pending what time you want to go). There are lots of shops, departments stores and lots of places to eat, you're spoilt for choice! Its probably to far to walk, I would say it might take about 40 minutes? But a 10 minute taxi drive if that.
The beach outside the hotel by the second pool is a nice place to spend the afternoon and get the last days sunshine, with the breeze you don't realise how hot it is. Its not really a swimming beach due to the boats, but there is a large range of water sports if thats your thing. The hotel also organise boat trips if you're interested, although we didn't have time to do this, the prices looked quite reasonable. There are other places too along the way you could try if you wanted.
Also used the spa, which was a great deal. At about £35 for both myself and the OH, we had a body scrub, massage, spa bath, facial which was about 1.5 - 2 hrs long. They also have a happy hour for massages on the bales around the pool and beach for about 100,000.

All the staff in the hotel were extremely friendly and always happy to help with any problems that you may have. The pool is relatively small but has a very nice setting. It was extremally clean and good value for money.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2009

I stayed at the Ramada Benoa for 10 nights in September 2009 and loved this resort.

The resort is located on Jalan Pratama - at the very far end of Tanjung Benoa (near the harbour). It is approximately 5kms from Nusa Dua which can be accessed by a short taxi ride or the free Bali Collection Shuttle bus which runs every hour.

This is a lovely hotel with beautiful Balinese architecture and gardens. It is an older style hotel which retains a charming atmosphere. The rooms are clean and modern and have the features you would expect of a 4 star resort.

Overall, I would rate this hotel as a very good 3.5 star resort. I enjoyed this resort more than some of the 4 & 5 star hotels I have stayed at in the Nusa Dua / Tanjung Benoa area. I found this resort to be extremely good value - including the food, laundry and room service.

The hotel is located over 3 levels and has 2 swimming pools, a tennis court and 3 restaurants. Whilst not located directly on the beach, the beach is literally on the other side of Jalan Pratama where the second lagoon style swimming pool is located (as is the Tao restaurant).

Tanjung Benoa is a quiet area which still retains a village atmosphere. It's a great area to walk around and you can easily access shops and restaurants along Jalan Pratama or enjoy a lovely beach walk for several kilometres.

There is a small shop next to the hotel which sells soft drinks etc and the closest Circle K (small convenience store) is a 10 minute walk away. Restaurants outside the resort are located a little further down and if you require it, most restaurants will provide free transport. There is a new art market shop and Coco Market (small supermarket) which has opened on Jalan Pratama (not far from the Kind Villa Resort).

The beach is used by numerous watersport operators who offer parasailing, jet skiing, banana boat rides, boats for hire and scuba diving. The use of jet skis and parasailing does tend to restrict the use of the beach for a large part of the day however, this did not bother me.

The beachside area of the resort has a lovely pool and there were always sunlounges available. There are several gazebos on the beachfront and a massage service is available. The sand was lovely and white and the water clear.

The resort also offers a free daily shuttle to lovely Geger Beach (it leaves at 9.30am and departs Geger Beach at 2pm and 4pm). You need to pay for the sunlounges at Geger beach and don't forget to take beach towels. Geger Beach is approximately 6kms from the resort and is where the St Regis Resort is located (south of the Nusa Dua beaches but before you get to the Bali Nikko). The beach is beautiful and calm and great to swim in. There are drinks and snacks available there.

The Ramada also has a free daily shuttle bus to Tuban (South Kuta) which leaves at 10.30am and departs Tuban at 5.30pm. They drop you off just of the main street - close to Discovery Shopping Centre and the Waterbom Park. (Kuta is less than a 10 minute walk away from Tuban). A taxi from the Ramada Benoa to Tuban should cost you approximately 70,000 - 80,000 rupiah if you get a Blue taxi who have reputable meters. A taxi from the airport to the Ramada (through the taxi service window) costs 105,000 rupiah.

I had a pool view room which had a king size bed, a writing desk, wardrobe with personal safe and a nice balcony. The rooms have been modernised in the past and were cleaned very well each day (this is often a problem in Bali, but not at this resort). The rooms are reasonably spacious (more spacious than the room I had at The Westin which cost more than double the Ramada) and the bathrooms have a good size shower (not the uncomfortable shower over bath like a lot of other places). The hotel supplies 2 bottles of drinking water every day.

The breakfasts were included in the room tariff and they had a good selection of fruit, cereals, pastries and cooked food. The hot food varied each day and there were some really nice dishes. I was never bored by the selection of food available. The room service was quite slow and the food tended to be bland and at times, was cold by the time it arrived. This was the only slight negative I experienced.

I would recommend this hotel if you are looking for a Balinese style hotel with comfortable features and located in a quite location yet still accessible to Nusa Dua, the airport and Kuta etc. It's a friendly hotel with good staff and the hotel has a lot to offer.

From the moment you arrive, you just unwind totally. Bali is great value for money and so was the Ramada. Plenty of local restaurants if you don't want to eat at the hotel. Great watersports on the beach where you can haggle a good price on everything. We hired a car and a driver via the hotel to take us to various temples which again was very inexpensive. The only downside to the hotel is the internet service. If you want to use your laptop wirelessly, you have to purchase vouchers by the hour which is really inconvenient and the cost is one of the few things that was pricey here. Would recommend the Ramada to anyone.

I was staying at the hotel with my family for 3 nights. This hotel chosen because the other nearby hotels(Tanjung Benoa & Nusadua areas) were full and charging non sensible prices for the high season. Before making the decision I browse through hotel website and read Tripadvisor reviews. This hotel located at the end of Tanjung Benoa area, the resort size is pretty big,not huge. Got the Superior room at the end of the building close to the pool, the room is just similar as pictured on the website but with slightly different wall paint (resulting big different atmosphere). The size is adequate even with an extra bed placed in it. Our room did have balcony but the view was someone's backyard, not a pleasant thing tough but good enough. The bathroom is marbled but not equipped with the tub, just a shower.
The manicured garden and the Celepok Pool were great and beautiful. The hotel has a family jacuzzi but not working during my stay. The Beach across the street is not a great one, but good for sunbathing and sand play with your kids, water sports are too easy to find because this resort's beach sits in the middle of water sports companies. The Tao Lagoon on the beach side was just terrific, tough small it was never over crowded, the pool bar from the Tao Restaurant serves great drinks with reasonable price.
Breakfast was a bit boring, not so many choices. The staffs are great with their service and hospitality. Overall I could say this hotel is a good value one, not over priced since it is not that posh, and I got the essential purpose of my holiday: the calm white sand beach, calm neighborhood, great pool and bar, nice resort feels.

Was attending a conference in Nusa Dua, and although the Ramada is a bit off the beaten track, the area has a bit of character (unlike Nusa Dua).

The grounds are quite pretty and large, with two pools, and two restaurants. Staff were exteremely helpful. Breakfast was great.

My only complaint would be regarding the wireless internet in the rooms. Signal is patchy, and can be quite slow, and at 50000Rp/hr it's a bit pricey. Each hour must be used in one session.

We stayed at the Ramada for two weeks, to celebrate our renewal of our wedding vows, the staff are amazing, very attentive adn really looked after us and made our stay special.

The grounds are very pretty and typically balinese, with two nice pools one in the main hotel , the other on the beach, as others have said the beach is nothing special, but did not effect us in anyway, as the pool is very nice.

The tao is a great restaurant, with a nice selection of dishes.

On the whole the hotel is quiet and relaxing and we had the most amazing time, this is our second visit adn we hope to return one day.
