It's a bit of a way from Dresden, but once you arrive there's no turning back. It's a large fortress on a hill with steep sides. 4 euro to park, and then 3 euro per adult for the bus to the fortress. Even the bathroom by the ticket counter was .70 euro. And then another 6 euro per adult for admission. We took the elevator up. There's a lot of buildings inside the fortress compound, most were open and viewable but nothing was in English. There was an audioguide I could have rented for another 2,50 euro, but cheapness won. After looking threw non-descript buildings, walked the perimeter which has lots of cannons and lookouts. After that, walked down to the bus. It's not the prettiest castle (a festung not a schloss), but I would have given it a better rating but factoring in the cost, I felt disappointed. I would only recommend this if you've never been to a castle compound before (I've been in several, so perhaps I'm jaded)
