A beach that looks so serene that it is impossible to beleive over 9000 young men died here ina battle. the beach itself is just a beach, but the bunker and the monuments and then the cemetary overwhelm your emotions. I wish there was better tourism here since it is such an important battle ground. Directions to Normadny are tough. There was a ceremony going on that day and we heard TAPS and saw a group of men honoring a fleen friend. It was very moving. It is defintely worth going to visit especailly if you have a parent who served in WWII or if you are a history buff.
