We stayed at Furneaux for one night on our tramp along the Queen Charlotte Track. We booked a waterfront 'lodge' and were a little disappointed that it wasn't actually on the waterfront...but it was only around 100m away! The room was massive, clean and comfortable as was the lounge and bathroom areas. We booked a dinner, b&b rate and the food was superb, and with no supplements for the more extravagant menu items.
The location, views and surroundings are truly beautiful and so welcoming after a days tramp in glorious sunshine.
If you stay, make sure you allow time to visit the waterfall through true 'bush' at the rear of the lodge and also go see the gloworms after dark - out the hotel gate, right onto the track and just under the next bridge - no need to pay for expensive excursions!!
