“The time of our lives. Fabulously on our honeymoon! Brilliant!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2013

Mere words cannot express our happiness at finding such a beautiful spot to spend two wonderful nights in a very charming hotel/B&B. From the first email to Alison and Teresa to the final wave from Teresa as she wished a safe journey, we were treated with kindness, civility, and above all flexibility. As you will, within an hour of arriving, we fell in love with the island and realized one day was not going to be nearly enough to enjoy the heat wave Northern Ireland was having. (highs of 75 (LOL) with no humidity and a nice breeze-though you should ALWAYS pack for rain in NI) The second night the Inn was full (so to speak), but Alison found a way to work us into a single. (Which, being on our honeymoon, was no imposition at all.) The craic was mighty at McCuaig's Bar which normally (?) has music on w/e. We were lucky enough to catch and have a few pints with a virtual troupe of comedians appearing that weekend. At first we were a little disappointed, but the shows were hilarious and a good time was had by all until the bar "technically" closes at four. (They close the doors and you're in or out till six when they "open." LOL) But the best part was feeling we had a "home" to go to for a nap, shower, or for thoughtful advice on how to do any of the myriad things we wished to do. Alison and Teresa made a stay on lovely island fantastically better!

Room Tip: Email them early. They do not have a lot of rooms, though they are all charming. BOOK the ferry ear...

Splendid welcome by Terri and Alison made my week long stay fly by. I booked when the Manor House was under its previous management and was initially disappointed when Alison contacted me to say there was no longer a bar or much evening food available.

Travelling alone can be lonely, but not at the Manor House with other interesting guests and hosts to chat to. I didn't miss the bar at all (and its only a short stroll to the pub with wifi).

They only have the place until November this year - do go and visit for a few days. You will not be disappointed!

My daughter and I stayed here for 2 nights in July 2013 and had a lovely relaxing and very comfortable stay. Theresa and Alison were very welcoming and made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. The location is idyllic and the accommodation very comfortable and with lovely views out over the harbour. The little touches of local flavour, paintings by a local artist, books on the local flora and fauna and history and jigsaws ( we started one and enjoyed it so much we bought one for home! Just finished) made it very special. We can thoroughly recommend this hotel and the warm welcome that you will receive and look forward to retuning ourselves in the not too distant future.

We went with my daughter to Rathlin Island and stayed at the Manor house for one night. We really enjoyed our stay and the little touches made it even more pleasant. My 3 year old was thrilled with the use of the dolls house, little puppets and the little toy cat that was sat on our breakfast table the next morningn - very special. Will definitely go again, although next time we will request food as there was little choice on the island itself which was the only downside to our trip.

My sister & I stayed here for one night on her birthday, 20 June 2013.
We were met by Teresa who offered us tea and a chat before showing us to our en suite room with a harbour view (which all rooms have). Teresa asked if we would like a simple supper such as fish pie, but when we heard that the catch of the of the day was lobster we opted for that.
We set off to explore the Island and cycled to the far west and later to the east.
Dinner that evening was really special and the cook had made a delicious supper with a desert of fresh locally grown strawberries. We both slept soundly and enjoyed a hearty breakfast and later a bowl of tasty home made soup for lunch. All in all top marks from a former B & B landlady.

Room Tip: All rooms look good to me.

As we walked into the Manor House off the 9:30 am sailing we were met by Theresa with a broad smile and a charming welcome. This warm introduction continued for our whole stay. We felt most at home and nothing was too much trouble. I can highly recommend the Manor House for a most pleasant stay on Rathlin.

I have stayed a few times at the Manor House, the place is unsurpassed in it's setting in the calm bay on this wonderful island. The island is perfect for a day visit, but even better for staying a few nights where you truly get the "feel" of the place. The rooms are comfortable with mighty fine sea views, the evening meals (when available) are delicious, esp the oh so fresh seafood, the staff friendly and welcoming. I hope that the Manor House prospers under the new management and that many will come to enjoy this magical island.
