“Nice place close to main castles Warm reception and special attention to children”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 7, 2010

This place is wonderful and close to main castles.
The owner is delightfull and loves children. Two families were there during the stay with four childrens and we enjoyed the hospitality of the lady. She booked very good restaurant for us, she went with the other family to show them places in the woods where to find mushrooms, she gave snacks to children.
Bedrooms are very nice and spacious.

We went to the domaine de la Blonnerie in the beggining of october with our 3 children from 8 to 15 to celebrate our wedding anniversary and we had the most lovely stay we could expect.
Mr & Mrs Fontanelle were absolutly charming, sharing their knowledge of the region and have done everything they can so we could have wonderful memories of this special time.
The house is really beautiful, calm and very well located near the Loire's castles. We are so glad we didn't choose a hotel but this guesthouse. We really hope to come back, there are so many interesting things to do in this part of France!

1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2010 via mobile

My family and I spent a w.e away early September in the French countryside where we were hoping to spend a special time for my father-in-law's 70th birthday. Truth is, La Blonnerie's owner, Mme Fontanelle wasn't ready to make our stay enjoyable.
We booked the all 4 bedrooms for 6 adults and 5 children.
Although we clearly mentioned the age of the children at the time of booking, she admited after she took our payment that kids were not welcome in her quiet and delicate house. It is probably a very good idea indeed to avoid staying there with young children as the house itself is not suitable for them: no security gate or alarm  around the swimming-pool (this is by the way illegal) and 2nd floor french windows have no railings!
Mme Fontannelle advertises her guest-house as a lovely and friendly place to relax all day by the heated pool but we were unlucky enough to stay at the same time as her family which she had invited for lunch and afternoon for both days. Thus, we were kindly invited to leave and come back in the evening. We were also reminded to vacate our rooms by 11 o'clock the next day.
Our feeling was that we were only good enough to be taken our money from but not to spend the day at her place.
When we expressed our frustration about not being able to use the facilities, her very own words were: "You are in my house, and I make the rules. If you don't like them you are free to leave, I can't be bothered". It was obvious that the charming lady we had spoken to months before at time of booking was now showing her real personality. As far as we were concerned, we were all in shock and devasted that what we had thought as the perfect place for a family reunion turned out to be such an unwelcoming and unfriendly place.

We thought that such an unwelcoming owner and the irregularities that we noticed had to be reported to the Logis de France.
