“most comfortable and relaxing farmhouse bed and breakfast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2013

Lovely drive through this attractive village to Glebe House. On arrival, we were greeted by Sue and her husband Peter, followed by their two lovely dogs Polly and Meg. (Do not be put off if you do not like dogs, as they are more than happy to keep them away from you ) We had the Red Room which is a lovely spacious room with kingsize bed (very comfortable) and lovely pine furniture; sofa; tv and ensuite. Beautiful views over the rolling countryside and in the paddock you can see their four sheep and the hens.. After a great nights sleep a wonderful cooked breakfast was prepared for us - most enjoyable. There is also the choice of cereals; fresh fruit;toast; fresh coffee/tea and juices.....We felt really comfortable in Sue and Peter's company and enjoyed our week's stay there. We would certainly go back there as it is so comfortable and welcoming and the countryside around about is beautiful (only 10minutes or so from Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door)

The house is very well positioned in the quite countryside and both rooms overlook a great view of rolling grassy hills dotted with sheep. The rooms are very well furnished with good large bathrooms and modern fixtures. I particularly liked the large shower cubicles with proper sliding glass doors.
The ambiance is very welcoming and homely... A great breakfast to boot with lots of local produce including fresh eggs from the meandering chickens in the garden and amazing local honey. Defiantly will be back next time we visit our godmother who lives nearby.

Room Tip: The bigger of the two middle rooms is defiantly the one to fight for.

We stayed at Little Glebe which is a self catering house semi attached to the owners house Glebe House [which does B & B].
Accomodation is great, it is an upside down house....2 double bedrooms and 2 bathrooms downstairs and living room/kitchin upstairs which makes the most of the views from upstairs.
Everything was clean [apart from the wood burner fire which hadn't been cleaned out from previous use] and comfortable and well equipped.
Owners very friendly and unobtrusive, they were there if we had a problem but otherwise kept away and left us to enjoy our holiday undisturbed.
Only minor niggle we expected tea/coffee/biscuits to be available in the kitchin as detailed in the booking blurb, but only one tea bag and a couple of sachets of coffee, no biscuits! Found a 3/4 used jar of honey in the fridge. Did get a fresh loaf of bread, 4 eggs from the owners hens, 5 rashers of bacon, milk and some butter, so not all bad!!
Do remember to bring your own dishwasher tablets/salt as none are suppiied, also dish cloths [found a well used sponge under the sink!], washing up liquid and soap. There was a very small piece of used soap in each bathroom, but we had brought our own!
Don't want this to sound like a negative review, it is a delightful place and is within easy reach of local attractions such as Lulworth Cove. I wouldn't want those minor things to put you off, they are minor and probably trivial, but sometimes those minor details make all the difference.
We enjoyed our stay at Little Glebe and would recommend it to others.

My husband and I have just spent 2 nights at this lovely B&B and we will definitely stay here again!

Sue, the owner is very warm, welcoming and friendly, as are her 2 adorable dogs - Polly and Meg! She made us feel as if nothing was too much trouble and her breakfasts were amazing... all you could wish for and more! So much choice and all delicious! (Cereals, granola, yogurts, fresh fruit salad, various jams, spreads and honeys. Delicious fresh bread and a Full English to die for!) By far the best breakfasts I've ever had!

We stayed in the Red Room which is spacious, clean and comfortable with lovely views looking out over the garden and fields beyond.
The only downside is that we didn't find the bed very comfortable... the mattress is rather soft and we're used to a firm mattress, but that's our personal preference and I'm sure others would find the bed ok.

The location is perfect for visiting all the places between and around Weymouth, Lulworth and Studland Bay and it's a lovely place to return to at the end of the day.

For the most part it's very peaceful and tranquil, however the birds can get a bit noisy in the morning, although we didn't find this a problem.

In short, we had a fabulous time in Dorset and can't wait to return. Thank you, Sue and Peter, for welcoming us into your lovely home. We look forward to seeing you again soon! :)

Ps. A really nice place to eat and/or have a drink is the Lulworth Cove Inn, in Lulworth Cove.

My wife and I spent three wonderful nights at Glebe House B&B recently.

The room was just what we wanted. Large, comfortable and very clean.

The breakfast was delicious with all locally sourced produce.

The owners were so welcoming and gave us great advice on places to visit during the day and options for lunch and dinner.

Great location for Durdle Door, Lulworth and the rest of the Jurassic Coast of Dorset.

Pubs we found that do great food locally for lunch or dinner include:
The Sailor's Return (Chaldon Herring) and The Castle Inn (West Lulworth).

Would definitely recommend this B&B.
