“Go for the pancakes!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2012

Enjoy the best pancakes in the world stuffed with blueberries (my favorite), cherries, strawberries, or chocolate chips. Either way, they come out of the kitchen large and thin, with crispy edges. Amazing! Those of us who were fans of the Sandpiper breakfast in Baileys Harbor were saddened when it closed. Thank you, Rosemary, for taking your recipes here!

“Down to earth and down home folks and the food's good too”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2012

This old time pub is actually pretty far north of Sturgeon Bay in Jacksonport. Three couples from down south arrived in Door County at 9:00 PM in late July after a long drive from Traverse Bay, MI. About the only place we could find to get a late bite was Mike's located in an old house beside the highway next to a small motel. We do not regret the decision. The bar at that hour was just that ...a bar...about 8 or 10 drinkers and no eaters. No problem, we were treated like royalty. We all ate well on burgers, fried fish and great broasted chicken washed down with a good selection of draft beers. The best part was the friendly staff. Before we left they gave us a good supply of ground coffee to take to the bare cupboard in the lake cottage where we were staying. We went back three times...twice for a great filling breakfast and for a lunch. All were simple but filling and tasty. Before we left Door County we had met Mike and the whole family and most of the staff. One trip we even had one of our crew busing tables while Mike's wife sat an talked at our table. wouldn't be surprised if some of these folks showed up at my front door some day. A really fun and friendly place.

“Typical pub food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2012

Service was friendly and the food was fine, but nothing special. The french fries were not good, which was strange for a pub/bar as expected better. Burgers and fish sandwiches were fine.

“Great food even better now with breakfast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2012

Love this place, the food is great, the boasted chicken is excellent as are the burgers. Breakfast is a great addition, the pancakes are awesome. Friendly staff and prices right. I've been there many times and never disappoints.

“Great Food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2012

Mike is usually there to talk to both locals and tourists. This is the perfect small Door County bar that has friendly service and great food and reasonable prices.
