“Comfortable, well-equipped house in a typical Spanish town”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2013 for a stay in June 2013

We booked this lovely house as we wanted to stay in a typical Spanish town and not be surrounded by loads of tourists. The house is very comfortable and well equipped. As well as two first floor bedrooms and a bathroom, there is a bedroom and shower room on the ground floor which is ideal for people who would have trouble using the stairs. The ground floor courtyard and roof terrace were lovely for sitting outside. There are guidebooks and maps to help plan activities during your stay and parasols, chairs etc if you go to the beach. Everything was in very good condition and clean. My only complaint was that the cafetiere wasn’t big enough for two cups of coffee! The owner has said he will replace this with a bigger one.

The owner was very helpful before we went and gave good instructions on how to reach the house. These must be followed as driving in Lebrija is certainly a challenge. After our first visit to the Mercadona supermarket, where the exit from the underground car park is into a different road from the entrance, we ended up driving around the town which is mainly one way streets at least twice. The road in which the house is located was not recognised on our satnav system and we eventually got back home after finding an up to date map on a mobile phone app. After that, we left the car behind and walked everywhere in the town. It is less than 10 minutes to the centre when the shops, restaurants and bars are located.

Although not a tourist destination, the town does have some very interesting buildings and we enjoyed exploring it. There is a good selection of bars and restaurants offering reasonably priced food. We used to go and sit in a bar at the top of the main square to have a drink and watch the townspeople going about their daily business. It seemed to be the meeting place for the elderly men of the town! It definitely helps to have a knowledge of some basic Spanish as English was not widely spoken.

The town is ideally located for visiting Cadiz, Seville, Jerez and the beaches of the Costa de la Luz. We took the train to Seville and the return fare for both of us was about 22 Euros – the journey is about 40 minutes. When visiting Cadiz, we drove to El Puerto de Santa Maria and got the boat over which was about 5 Euros return each. One day we drove out and visited a few of the “pueblos blancos”, which are very pretty.

As we were only there for a week and we wanted some R&R, we didn’t visit all the places we would have liked but there is always next time! We would definitely try and return to this house if we decide to holiday in the area again.

Management Response
Aug 22, 2013
I am glad you had a really good time and thank you for the feedback. We have taken note of your comments regarding the cafetiere and have purchased a Nespresso machine we also provide an excellent choice of coffees for everyone to enjoy.

We use the house a lot and often get lost in Lebrija, but this is part of the fun and charm of the town as its nice just to stop and take in the atmosphere having a drink at the local bars/cafes.

We really appreciate your lovely review, we do try our best to provide a very good standard of accommodation for all to enjoy. We are also very lucky that we have an English lady on hand to manage any issues that may arise and our neighbours always provide helpful guidance and tips for our guests.

We hope that you make it back to Lebrija soon and try out the new coffee machine!!!!

“Lovely holiday home in an excellent location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2012 for a stay in October 2012

We have just spent one month staying in this lovely house in Lebrija and I can thoroughly recommend it to anyone wishing for a home from home in a friendly central location.

Lebrija itself is a small, friendly town with plenty of cafes and bars etc. It also has a daily market and plenty of local shops. Seville, Cadiz and Jerez are all easily accessible from Lebrija (and all are well worth a visit).

Lovely house, good location, friendly helpful neighbours and Spanish sunshine - what more do you need for a successful holiday.

“Confortable house, great area.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2012 for a stay in August 2012

Local town and house a great base to visit this area. Easy to find things to do in this interesting area, all local cities and towns within easy reach by train or car (essentiel), national parks and Atlantic beaches likewise. Would recommend to all ages.

“Homely house, lovely town, great area”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2012 for a stay in May 2012

The house is spacious and very comfortable. It is ideally located to access the town centre and excellent Mercadona supermarket. The location makes this an ideal base to explore the surrounding area of Andalucia. Cadiz is well worth a visit by using the inexpensive ferry from Puerto Santa Maria ( 2.35 euros ) Sanlucar de Baramada is also a must with a local street market and excellent beachside cafes. A day at the beach is best taken at Puerto sherry, Chipiona oo Rota. Relax, explore or do a bit of both, the choice is yours and thats the best choice to have.

“Great family holiday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2012 for a stay in June 2011

We booked this house direct with the owner and everything was as agreed and the keys were easy to pick up and the neighbours are very helpful for directions. we travelled with our young son and have never been to this area of spain before and we are pleased we did. Lebrija is a lovely town with some nice bars and restaurants and very nice at the weekends when the families come out and it makes a wonderful atmosphere. The town has all the amenities that you need and everything is just a short walk from the house.

The house itsself is very homely with nice comfy furniture. When it gets too hot in the downstairs patio area you can just go up to the roof and enjoy the fresh air. The house has everything that you need ( although WIFI would have been handy) and you can either park outside or just round the corner. It is very quiet and so you can have a nice relaxing break either on the roof or by the communal pool, which is a very short walk to the end of the street.

All in all a nice owner to deal with, a lovely property and a lovely area, we will be back.

“Fabulous Villa, Great Location, Briliant Value - We will be back”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2012 for a stay in May 2012

We booked this at quite short notice and the owner was so helpful with arranging everything and giving us advice. It is a great location for sightseeing in the area, easy to get to Seville/Jerez/Cadiz etc. Lovely little old town, typically Spanish and very friendly.

The house was very well equipped, and had everything we needed. The furniture all seemd to be extremely new and very comfortable, it was a bit like being home from home but much hotter outside!

We have visted this area many times before but this was definitely the nicest place we have rented.

We would highly recommend for families and couples wishing to get away and get aquainted with the real spanish hospitality.

“A great, relaxing family holiday - highly recommended”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 30, 2012 for a stay in August 2011

We had a fabulous family holiday here last August and it was perfect for what we wanted - sun, sea, and lots of R&R!
We have 2 young children - 3 and 6 years old girls - so we wanted a relaxing holiday that we could all enjoy. The girls loved the pool and spent hours in it. It was very safe and all enclosed so meant I could relax with my book at the same time which was great!
The house is very spacious and has everything you need, including some UK tele which was a bonus for kids TV before bedtime!
There was lots to do and places to visit nearby which was great as it meant we could go out for part of the day and then come back to the pool to cool off.
We also found a great waterpark about 20mins away which the girls loved .
There are various lovely, long beaches nearby which we visited and were relatively quiet even in August, and we were lucky enough to see the famour horse racing at Sanlucar, whilst we were there which was great.
We didn't get to sample much of the local cuisine unfortunately but there were lots of places to eat. It was just easier for us to make use of the BBQ at the house and the local supermarket had a great range of meat and fish so we made use of this instead.
I would recommend hiring a car to make the most of everything the area has to offer. We found it very easy to find our way around and it was an easy journey from Seville airport as well.
