We recently visited London for an Easter Long weekend getaway, and while touring Dover Castle and The White Cliffs, we had asked about suggestions for a great local pub and The Archer was highly recommended.
After having been there with our friends, we could not agree more. The atmosphere was what you would expect for a small, traditional local pub, and the food was nothing short of excellent (and plentiful). Unfortunately there was only one special of the day left but it was quickly swept up by one of our party, and it was apparently the highlight of her trip. The other 5 in our party also enjoyed the experience, and we have nothing but fond memories of sharing some laughs and great food.
We even had the owner (Andrew) come over to our table as he had been made aware of our reservation before we showed up, and we had a great conversation with him and he eventually convinced us to change our plans for the day before heading back to London. All in all - a great time, and we would highly recommend The Archer for anyone who is in this area and wants exceptional food, a great beer, and good company.
