We loved this place. We were so welcomed and had a very comfortable stay. It was a very nice surprise that the owners spoke English. The views were breathtaking, dinner was delicious and plentiful. The wine was tasty as were the grapes from the vine. Anyone visiting this part of France should definately visit the vineyard and I recommend spending the night. Muse was a charm too.

It's a fab. B&B experience at O'Vineyards. Our room, the Syrah room, was lovely and spacious. The bed is BIG and comfy and the bathroom was roomy, too, with modern facilities.
The room has a balcony, where you can sit and look out over the vines and the views beyond.
At dinner the night before, Liz asked what time we'd like breakfast - so much more relaxed than many B&Bs. Breakfast itself was delicious (and despite copious wine consumption the night before, no headache!!!).
We found Liz and Joe to be very welcoming, accommodating and generous hosts. We definitely hope to visit again.

I found this B&B while reading Ryan O'Connell's wine blog. We booked for 2 nights plus a winery tour and home cooked meal by the host Liz. My mother and I drove in to O'Vineyards late on a Saturday evening and were immediately greeted by Joe with wine, followed by Liz's wonderful homecooked meal, combined with great conversation and topped copiously with wine. The beds were comfortable and the setting of the vineyard was extremely peaceful. The next morning we had a great breakfast by Liz at 830am (the O's wines somehow caused much less of a headache than other wines -- could it be the minimal use of sulfides?) We spent the Sunday visiting Carcassonne (only about a 10 minute drive into town from the B&B). When we came back Ryan took us and several other couples to the cellar for a winery tour, where Ryan was extremely informative with the winemaking process, as well as gave me tips for tasting wines. To top this up, Liz went above and beyond treated my mother and I to a second wonderful dinner, explaining that I shouldn't have to drive around trying to find another restaurant on a Sunday.

All in all, because the B&B only has 4 rooms and one large dining room, and because of the O'Connells' hospitality, I really felt like we spent two days at a family gathering. The rooms were spacious, clean and had comfortable beds. I highly recommend this place for anyone visiting the Carcassonne area who wants to get a real sense of life in a vineyard.

Our visit to Liz and Joe consisted of three generations of one family with an age range of 9 to 83. We were pleased to arrive after a long day in the car, and the warm welcome we received from our hosts was very welcome, as was a glass of fabulous wine as we came in through the door. Our bedrooms were beautiful, spacious, gracefully decorated and with fantastic views over the vineyards. The bathrooms also were very nice indeed, again spacious and very well appointed. Supper was a wonderful fusion of Asian and French, all served by the lovely Ombre, and enjoyed by all, even Grandma. Our super picky daughter at least tried the dishes on offer with Liz's persuasion. Joe was a generous wine host and we chatted and ate and tried a variety of wines during the evening, perfect! In the morning our daughter 'helped' in the kitchen and cooked almond biscuits and chocolate croissants under Lliz's expert guidance, she felt very proud of herself indeed. We had a day spent exploring Carcassonne, and then shared more wine and appetisers with Liz and Joe on our second night.

We had a wonderful couple of days, Liz and Joe are knowledgable and great company. Their passion for the vineyard is infectious, and there is really something very special about drinking wine in the place it was grown, harvested and bottled, and going to sleep listening to the wind rustling the vine leaves outside your window! We will return!

What a blast, Liz and Joe are the most accommodating hosts. Nothing is too much trouble. We travelled down as a band of friends on a mission to collect the Naked 100 as we all have shares. Upon arrival Joe immediately offered wines for tasting and this continued for the entire weekend. Liz provided excellent quality food. The O's make a tremendous team and if you haven't had a chance to visit the area the O'Vineyard is a great base to explore this wonderful area of France.

I wish I could rate them higher than 5...They deserve it. Can't wait to go back

As members of the Naked 100 Wine group we visited the vineyard in July 2012 to collect our first share of wine. It was our first visit to O'Vineyards and we weren't disappointed. We were welcomed after a long drive with a bottle of wine on the terrace under the shade of the olive trees. We were then shown our room, overlooking the vines with a balcony, before a tour of the house and vineyards. Joe passed on his enthusiasm about his wines and after tasting several different varieties we retired to our balcony to enjoy another glass or two before dinner. Liz prepared a very homely and delicious meal using fresh local ingredients and Joe once again provided as much wine as was required during the evening, shared with a couple of other guests.

We were extremely fortunate to be there on July 14th Bastille Day, and were invited to join Liz and Joe and their many local guests, having an informal buffet meal whist enjoying the firework display over Carcassonne, which lit up the medieval city beautifully.

We left after another delicious breakfast, with our cases of wine as well as many other examples of their wonderful wines.

It is true what Joe says. No matter how much one consumes, there is never a headache in sight!!

My husband and I had the good fortune to spend a night in Ovineyards last week and were we glad we had. We arrived in the afternoon and joined other guests for a glass of wine on the outdoor decking. Then Joe brought us on a tour of the vineyard ,as others have said, this was so informative and interesting. Joe has a natural empathy with people and knows how to keep his audience interested. We sampled the various wines and were shown around the vat room.
We had booked dinner and I had high expectations! We were not disappointed. Liz is a fantastic cook and she makes it look so effortless! She provided, with help from Amber, a varied, delicious 6 or 7 (I lost count) course meal for 11 guests.Joe served various varieties of wine during the evening and everyone chatted and shared stories. The atmosphere was so relaxed and warm that it will be an evening we will both treasure during the long winter months.
Our bedroom was beautiful, with a lovely balcony overlooking the vineyard...we slept soundly.
We left next morning after a tasty
cooked breakfast provided by liz.
As you can see we had a memorable stay...Liz and Joe provide their guests with a unique experience and we would like to thank them for welcoming us in such a warm manner. We wish them every success in the future and hope to return with friends!
