“home from home CL”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2012

We have just got back from 9 days stay at Hotel Germany and find very little to criticise. All the staff are very welcoming and treat you as guests should be treated, with courtesy and a smile. The Germany is rated as 2 star and I would give it 3 , modern facilities preventing a higher marking. The rooms are clean, the food is very good and both the food and wine are very good value. If you want a lively holiday, go elsewhere. This is a resort to relax in with beautiful views and a good beach especially for young families. I would recommend the Germany, Dimitris and all the family to anybody who wants a good value relaxing holiday.

Room Tip: Seaview rooms are best as the view is amazing and they are well shaded after late morning

Just got back from our third stay at this hotel, and it's as good as it ever was. Transfer from the airport is 75 minutes by a taxi that was waiting for us and Dimitri, the owner, was waiting at the hotel to meet us with a very welcome drink. The location of the hotel is unbeatable, directly on the beach at the quiet end of the village, though this does not mean that the other end of the village is noisy! There are about a half dozen restaurant/tavernas along the beach, each on a wooden deck over the sand. However we didn't eat at any of these due to being booked half board. Sunvil (the operators offering this hotel) recommmend staying half board and their advice is worth taking. The food is superb, with plenty of choice on the regular menu and the addition of daily specials which vary each day. Personal recommmendations are the baked feta starter (but watch out for the slices of pepper, very warming!) and the fried mussels as a main. I was a bit suspicious of mussels in the Med, but they are locally harvested and delicious. Half the rooms look out over the sea, and it's well worth requesting a sea view. All the rooms are newly decorated with a fridge, air-con, balcony etc. The rooms are quite cosy and storage space is fairly limited, plenty of hanging space but only bedside drawers. The rooms are cleaned daily with fresh towels each day and sheets every other day. Do not expect a visit to the local night club (there isn't one) or to drink until 4 in the morning. This is a holiday all about relaxing, breakfast, for example, is not served until 9 in the morning and an energetic day was walking about half a mile to the ancient ruins on the next headland( the home of Aristotle). It is very rare that we return to the same place twice, but we will be making a booking for our fourth visit soon.

Room Tip: Top floor rooms are smaller, but first floor rooms are primarily for small families, but can be allo...
