“Worth a visit for sure!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2014

This is not a place you accidentally drive by - or to. It's a place you need to know about, but well worth not only the dining, but a great stay, too.
Having just had an excellent Easter dinner there including a great night's sleep plus breakfast, I can definitely recommend Dyvig Badehotel.
Beautifully restored in every detail, very friendly staff and delicious cuisine.
We arrived Sunday afternoon and were served good coffee and homemade apple-pie. After a nice stroll down to the local harbour, we had drinks on the terrace and then a 3-course dinner: Smoked salmon (of high quality) with a perfect mix of greens followed by a healthy serving of tender and juicy lamb - also served with perfect sides, including a tasty mix of new potatoes.
Dessert was the dream of a chocolate/ice-cream lover. One of the best I've ever had!
The room was a bit warm, but keeping the door open to a french balcony, the fresh and clean air helped achieving a good nights sleep in the lovely room.
Breakfast was just as high quality - both the freshly baked break & buns and the cheese, salami and jam. Two kinds of juice and all the coffee you can drink.
All in all: Worth a visit for sure!

Room Tip: Go for a room with a view over the small harbour.

This hotel is fillede with beautiful paintings, furniture and other decoration. Plus the very famous Floa Danica dishes, that guests can eat on.
We stayed there last year in September, the days were very sunny and warm. Our room opend directly to our own terrace right on the waterfront. Lovly room, exellent service and the food was divine. The wine menu was beautifull composed. We bought som of the Alsace wine to take home as the hotel had a speical blend made just for them.
The very best hotel stay that we ever had.

The problem is poor management and the menu card says it all, something to the effect of: "If you are not satisfied, let us know right away. We will not accept feedback after your visit, and will refer to this policy rather than reply." This ensures that perhaps the waiter gets feedback, but management does NOT. The location is nice, the building is new, and the rooms facing the sea are large and nice. It could be a nice place with proper management. However, the service and the food is average at best. The service is not qualified so they forget or neglect guest wishes, but they are not the problem, since they get no supervision. The food in the Brasserie appear to be rather industrial (e.g.; soft macaroni in the curry salad), though the plates are very full (if you like that). In summary: Average, due to lack of visible and competent management.

Room Tip: View to the sea is a must.

I was really looking forward to my visit here and on arrival at the hotel overlooking the marina on a warm summer night and a nearly full restaurant on the terrace, things looked promising.
The staff were so busy they did not even have time to greet us. But eventually we were seated and received the menu were the choices looked appealing although highly priced but I am afraid the food and service were well below the price & the view.

Now the second visit, as good as the first, a year ago.
Here there are two dining options: Restaurant Vigen-a gourmet restaurant, and Brasseri Skipperstuen, a more informal place.
Vigen is good: a tasting menu of up to 7 courses, priced from DKK348 ( 2 course) to DKK748 (7 course) has very well executed dishes made with local black lobster, fresh asparagus, sea bass, fine french cheeses and a medley of rhubarb desserts. There are matching wines, which if you go for all the courses will add DKK628.
The view is perfect, service is prompt and careful, and the whole experience excellent, but this pricing takes Vigen into Michelin star territory, where it does not -yet- belong. Still, the fact that the restaurant is full on a rainy Tuesday suggests that most diners disagree with me. For sure it's the only place in this class for a hundred kilometers.
If you want the view, the quality, and don't mind a gingham tablecloth instead of heavy white linen, go for the brasserie, where a half lobster and a cold beer won't break the bank. And go on a warm summer's evening where you can sit outside and watch the water.
Either way, book or you may not get in.

A unik hotel, that are totally new (2010), but ekslusively build and decorated to perfection in a old style. The hotel are located in A lovely quiet place with A perfekt view to the see.
Stayed there for one Night and had prepayed for a 4 dishes dinner, the dinner was good, but we were disapointed to have no other choise than lamb, as main course. The service and personel were very friendly and serviceminded - all in all A very pleasent experiance.

We had a grandde lux room with beds for two kids (5 & 8) and a double bed and still plenty of space. We had a beautiful view towards the seafront, very nice. In our room there are nice paintings giving the room some exclusive touch as well.
The atmosphere is very laid back and very nice, here a X-mas time it is particularly cozy.
The surroundings are great, but the little extras are missing, it is like the final touches still missing, but that said a very nice experience, only one bad thing, there was a significant smell at our room a bit like it has been quite a while since it was used before? Nothing that some fresh air couldn't solve, but would have been nice if that was done before we arrived. Actually I had to sleep in the one of the extra beds and honestly it was awful, very uncomfortable and a mattress as hard as a rock.
There is two good opportunities to eat there as well, a finer restaurant and a more informal place called "Skipperstuen" both places make very delicious dishes. The breakfast is made of lots of local specialities and is very delicious too.

All in all a very pleasant stay in very nice surroundings and only the smaller details takes the last star out of the equation.
