After eating at Crab's and having a great time we decided to try Flounders because it was owned by the same company. Our first impression was great. We loved the atmosphere and the children had a ball while waiting for a table. When our pager went off our visit went down hill. We were escorted to a very dark corner of the restaurant that was almost empty. Right next to a bar that was not even open and running. Quite a contrast from the outside we had waited in. I saw the special Lobster sliders and decided to order it despite no description. I should have asked for a description. I assumed a slider would be a small hot sandwich. Mine arrived on a cold bun and in between was a cold lobster/shrimp salad. No lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, cheese... Not what I was expecting, but my fault for not asking for a description. Under the fried food section there was a choice between beer battered shrimp and grilled shrimp. Since my mother had ordered fried shrimp at Crab's and they had been delicious she ordered the grilled shrimp here. They came out on huge skewers filled with onions, peppers and pineapple. The description said nothing about shish kabobs. The shrimp were under cooked and when we mentioned this to the waiter he said it is because they are poached instead of grilled. So, why did the menu say grilled? I would probably not eat here again based on this experience. My advice to others, request a table outside if you want to be part of the lively atmosphere and make sure to ask for a description of what you order if you don't like being surprised when the plate is put in front of you.
