“A Real Taste of Pensacola Beach”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 13, 2013

Peg Leg's is a Pensacola Beach tradition with locals. Forty-nine cent raw oysters on Wednesdays, great fried grouper sandwiches, and the feel of a real beach bar/restaurant. If you're on the beach, you should visit Peg Leg's.

“Good Food, Good Times”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 13, 2013

We enjoyed Peg Leg Pete's. We arrived with a party of 15 (they do not take reservations) and were able to sit together on the lower deck which worked out well because the children were able to play on the playground and we could watch them. The food and the service were great.

“Looking for a Pirate Dining Experience in Pensacola?”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2013

If you take the Pensacola Beach Bridge and head towards Fort Pickens, you'll find a little place that packs a great dining experience. The place is a little bit of Pirate and a lot of good seafood eating.

We visited Peg Leg Pete's on a Thursday afternoon in January. When dining out, my husband and I like to sit at the bar and chat with the Bartender. We almost never have to wait in line and we like the socializing aspect of sitting at the bar. At this bar, you look out upon Peg Leg Pete's Marina. If you love watching boats while dining, this is a place for you.

When we sat down, we were greeted by Karina, a long-time employee of Peg Leg's. I explained that I had never had oysters and she had the shucker bring me out one to try. Although raw seafood is always a risk, the oyster tasted so fresh, I had no worries. It was so good, we ordered a dozen. ($7.95) We also had the Seafood Gumbo and Chowder. Both of them, very good.

We don't have young children, but there was a large playground on site that looked safe and fun, and I imagine the children would love seeing the boats in the Marina. The restaurant has an additional outside bar, 'The Under "Where" Bar', right beside the playground. It was not open during this cool afternoon in January, but we expect to sample it on our next visit ... and there certainly will be a return visit!
