“Beautiful hotel, but their rude.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2012

We haven't had a vacation in two years. Decided to take a week off and go here. It's a beautiful place. With it being Margaritaville and Jimmy Buffet being a big parrot head we thought drinking would be okay. My husband got drunk on the second day. They came to our room and told us he was to be confined to the room until the next day and if they see him out they would evict us with police. He gets drunk from time to time and he wasn't bad at all. Needless to say we went ahead and got a room at the Hilton down the street. The Hilton is in the middle of everything. A lot of things to do. The room was just as big and nice as Margaritville the only difference is, The Hilton was cheaper. I'll also add that our golfing umbrella was stolen from one of the Valets at Margaritaville. They don't only search the inside of your car, but also the trunk.

Great getaway with spacious and clean rooms. Unfortunately, the extremely noisy air conditioning system kept waking us up throughout the night and turned an otherwise perfect time into a disappointment. If the problem is ever fixed we would be back in a heartbeat.

My wife and I stayed at Margaritaville for one night the day after our wedding to enjoy a little honeymoon pregame.

Margaritaville was suggested to us by friends that did the same thing.

It was not touristy at all! Which we enjoyed since we are locals. ( fort Walton beach )

Service amazing! Prices on merchandise and drinks and breakfast were very affordable we will definitely be returning for a long date weekend in the near future.

Room Tip: Bay view is very nice and nicely priced. Next time we might do gulf view. About $40 more per night

My husband and I really enjoyed our five night stay here. The hotel is fresh and modern with a great location right on the beautiful beach. We had an ocean front king with a balcony, which was a gorgeous room with a beautiful ocean mural on the wall, a huge bathroom with a glass shower that could easily hold 7 or 8 people, good high end toiletries, a nepresso coffee maker, excellent flat screen television, lovely furnishings and decor, and an extremely comfortable and beautiful bed. The color scheme was a soothing, cool blue. I loved the tile floors and glass lamps. We found all the staff, including housekeeping, to be efficient and helpful. The hotel was spotlessly clean. The pool area is very nice, great drinks from the pool bar, and nice guys on the beach (they are not affiliated with the hotel) who rent beach gear, umbrellas, lounge chairs with cushions, etc. We were in town for business, but had two days to enjoy the beautiful beach and the Pensacola area. It's a really great destination. If I was to nit pick a little, I thought it was odd that the closet in the room had no door and all your luggage and items are just crammed into the area and visible from the room. Certainly not a deal breaker, but in a room that has been so thoughtfully decorated, that detail was unusual to me. I would most definitely return here if we visited Pensacola again in the future and had a lovely stay. We didn't eat at the hotel, but the bartender (Nate) made the best bushwackers (the local favorite drink) we had in all of Pensacola and we made it our mission to try them everywhere lol! If you have the time do try to have breakfast at a local hangout called Native Cafe only a mile away from the hotel. There are great dinner choices all around but for an amazing evening give The Grand Marlin a try. Fantastic!

Nice place to open a restaurant, if you could just get some service. This was 3:30PM and we were one of six tables in the whole restaurant with a waitress and waiter and two bartenders. After an extended wait after we finished our meal and the server never came back I had to find him to settle the bill

If you plan on coming here thinking you will have a great time you are wrong! Jimmy Buffet atmosphere is non existent. The hotel is pretty but the hotel is lame and boring! Spend your money at the Hilton! We found out when leaving that Jimmy has nothing to do with this hotel and really only sold his name.

What a beutiful hotel run by smiling faces.
My and my lovely wife were fortunate enough to spend our second honeymoon there recently (Sep 29-Oct 2).
We were greeted by smiling valet parkers (but you can self park in the parking garage under the hotel for free!). We arrived very early in the morning and the front desk staff insisted we check in and begin enjoying the property, no need to wait for "check in" time since our room was available.
Our room, a double queen bay view (they didn't have the king gulf view available since we did arrive a day earlier than our original reservation but we were fine with that), was much larger than I expected and the first thing I noticed, other than the size, was the very nice relaxing mural near the entrance to the bathroom and also the breathtaking view from the balcony. Once you enter the bathroom you'll notice it has an extremely large shower (for a hotel room).
On our second night we had issues with the air conditioner and the front desk upgraded us to the corner king executive gulf front room. That room is even larger to include a separate sitting area, the addition of a huge deep tub and an even larger stand up shower. Your balcony is now a wrap around so you have views of up or down the beach in addition to the gulf. (to be honest we never used the extra space so if it were up to me I wouldn't spring for the larger room.)

Fank and Lola's is a great place to "nibble on some sponge cake" or any other delight.
Once you step onto the beach they've got 25 pairs of padded lounge chairs with umbrellas for rent if you'd like to "watch the sun bake" and "those tourists covered with oil."
No worries if you "blow out your flip-flop" since the beach is at your doorstep, and besides, they have a small gift shop in the lobby with plenty of Buffett stuff to include flip-flops.
If you are looking for "booze in a blender which will soon render that frozen concoction that helps you hang on" try the tiki bar at the pool.
You can pretend you are on your "front porch swing" sitting on your balcony enjoying the beautiful green gulf.
I'm certain if I didn't have to get back to work this would be "the reason I'd stay there all season."

Pros:
Modern new facility very well decorated and relaxing
Perfect location on the beach
Free covered parking
reasonable price (for the king/queen bay view)
tasty food at "frank and lola cafe"
nice pool and bar
daily events such as arts and crafts in lobby
well apointed Buffett references and artwork in the rooms and throughout hotel

Cons:
if you want a "party" hotel this is not it

Of note during off season:
Landshark Landing (bar) is only open until November 1st although you can still get adult beverages at frank and lola's
Landshark landing will not open if it's raining
The Pensacola Beach free shuttle does not run so you must drive if you want to explore the rest of Pensacola beach or eat off property

Overall review: Even for those that are not sure who Jimmy Buffett is this hotel is a must stay if in the area (unless you are a "spring breaker" type then you may want to move along to another location).

We'll be moving to Pensacola in the near future and will probably visit the hotel from time to time.

If you don't enjoy Margartiaville Beach Hotel on Pensacola Beach there isn't "a woman to blame, IT'S YOUR OWN DAMN FAULT."

Room Tip: Select the King or Queen Gulf front. In my opinion it's not worth the extra money for the Execu...
