“A Good, Quick Fix”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2013

The Castle Dome Café was our lunch stop during our visit to Zion National Park. As we got into the line to place our orders, I was surprised to see the line move as fast as it did, and before we knew it, I had my tuna sandwich and my brother had his salad in hand.

There is no indoor seating at this snack bar so it was challenging to find a dry spot to sit down outside without being rained on. There are tables outside and on a non-rainy day, it’s very nice to eat while soaking up the fresh air.

We both thought that our meals were average, but they hit the spot and rejuvenated us for the rest of the afternoon at the park. And, as with other national park concessions throughout the United States, I found the prices here to be very reasonable. When considering the quick service, the average tasting meal, and the reasonable price, my overall experience was very good.

The Castle Dome Café is a good bet for a good, quick meal.

“Surprisingly good and very convenient”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2013

This take out operation located as part of the Zion Lodge was quite convenient, very efficient, and the food was surprisingly good (Might have been helped by being ravenous from hiking). We ate here twice for lunch while hiking in Zion and found the quality and the variety to be more than acceptable. The seating area is outside, mostly shaded, and can tend to get crowded and difficult to get a table during peak periods (however, we were able to get a table quickly both times). Prices were fair and they also have soft serve ice cream! A better option than expected.

“Convenience and scenery”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2012

The breakfast biscuit sandwiches were actually pretty good and reasonably priced. For everything else, you're clearly paying a premium for the convenience of eating inside Zion National Park. The pizza was good and the grilled chicken fair. The burger and fries were below average, but they made for a filling meal which was easy to get down. The soft ice cream may have been the worst I've ever had. On the other hand, it's hard to beat coming back from a hot hike and sitting outside on a sunny day while sipping on a craft beer and enjoying the great scenery. Be warned, however, that there is no inside seating.

“Snack bar food with a view”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2011

The snack bar is at an outdoor location convenient to the shuttle bus stop at the Lodge. You order and pick-up food inside, tables are outside. We arrived before noon, so it wasn’t too crowded, but it filled up fast as we ate. We chose typical snack bar food – hamburger, hot dog & chips – but they tasted good. There was also an ice cream stand there and beer on tap was available. We paid $17 for 2 (incl. 2 bags of chips and 2 soft drinks).
