It is true that if you just missed a shuttle another one will be by soon. It was a pain to fold the stroller down and there was not a lot of room besides sitting. People had making sticks and larger then normal backpacks and it was difficult to navigate with them. They are not air-conditioned but once they are moving the air circulates well.

Always running and on-going park info is helpful. Very friendly drivers and extremely convenient. I don't think we ever waited for more than about 5 minutes for any shuttle. Takes the stress of driving with gawking tourists out of your life. Very nice.

“Super easy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2013

This was a super easy way to get around the park. Also cut down on the number of cars, which makes the trip so much more enjoyable for everyone!

“Makes the day stress free.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2013

Starting at the Zion Canyon Visitor Center the shuttle buses run every ten minutes (April - October) and are the only way you can access the scenic drive (unless you are stopping at the Zion lodge accommodation). There are two stops before you get to the Scenic Drive and six stops on the actual drive. The drivers are extremely friendly and knowledgeable and there is also a running commentary as you go up the valley. We decided to stay on all the way to the top and it all it took about 40 minutes. Then we got out at each of the stops as we came back down and did our exploring from there. In mid afternoon we found the Zion Lodge stop heading South to be very busy so much so that after not getting on three buses we took the next one North and got off the next stop to collect the Southbound bus. It was standing room only which meant people at Zion Lodge did not get on. Just something to bear in mind if in a hurry.
Since most of the car parking is at the visitors center it means the bus stays busy until the end.
There is also another service which serves the town of Springdale and runs every 15 minutes or so and covers all of the town. Makes getting in and out of the park ever so easy, so if the car park is full and you are forced to park in Springdale getting back and too is not difficult.
Oh by the way the shuttle is free once you have paid the park entry fee. Since we were visiting 5 parks on this trip we bought an annual pass at $80 saving a bit on the $25 per park.

“The Most Spectular of all the canyon parks.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2013

Upon entering the Zion National Park, you know you are in for a different kind of canyon experience. You are looking at a wonderland of rock monoliths. The sandstone cliffs are some of the highest in the world and the scenery is unlike any you will see any place else. The beauty is unbelievable. Please stay in the park overnight. Deer, wild turkeys and fox roam the grounds at night, which adds to the wonder of this place. There are many walking trails to fit one's ability. Because of cracks in the sandstone, you will see beautiful flowers growing up the cliffs along with ferns that appear to look like hanging gardens on the cliffs. There are many creeks that add to the beauty of the area. A free shuttle bus will take you on a scenic tour of the park. The summer will bring high temperatures so be prepared with plenty of water. Spring and fall are perfect times to visit. We found this park to be our favorite of all the canyon lands.
