“Good overview of National Park”

View is beautiful, inside there were 2 fireplaces going with a seating area available, staff very friendly and you can watch a movie about the park on request. We had a 3 and 7 yr old with us and they enjoyed seeing all the displays of park animals and the interacive map. You can either download a "Jr. Ranger "pamphlet from the nps site before leaving home or purchase one there.The children loved the activities which kept them busy and educated them at the same time. It is a great introduction to our park system for small children.

“Park rangers are helpful”

Beautiful views from here. They have full flushing toliets at this restroom, not the stinky yucky outhouse toliets they have in the picnic areas. If you need any additional information, the park rangers are happy to help you out. They also have a gift shop at the visitor center here. They sell stuff like books about the area, clothing and knick knacks. No sweatshirts so bring your own, they only sell t-shirts. At least in October 2012.

Ranger Jerry A. was friendly, informative, and made us feel truly welcome.
Buy the audio tour CD and it will help you understand what you are seeing at all the roadside stops.

Nice dioramas about the various forms of the ecosystems in the park. A nice gift shop. Wonderful views of the Shanedoahs, from here..nice hikes, too!

“Really Worth The Stop”

A lovely overview of Shenandoah and Skyline Drive in a wonderful location. Definitely stop and visit this center and see the video and get guides and maps.
