“Park rangers are helpful”

Beautiful views from here. They have full flushing toliets at this restroom, not the stinky yucky outhouse toliets they have in the picnic areas. If you need any additional information, the park rangers are happy to help you out. They also have a gift shop at the visitor center here. They sell stuff like books about the area, clothing and knick knacks. No sweatshirts so bring your own, they only sell t-shirts. At least in October 2012.

Ranger Jerry A. was friendly, informative, and made us feel truly welcome.
Buy the audio tour CD and it will help you understand what you are seeing at all the roadside stops.

Nice dioramas about the various forms of the ecosystems in the park. A nice gift shop. Wonderful views of the Shanedoahs, from here..nice hikes, too!

A lovely overview of Shenandoah and Skyline Drive in a wonderful location. Definitely stop and visit this center and see the video and get guides and maps.

“Perfect Start to Skyline Drive”

The Rangers are so informative and helpful. See the film which is shown upon request to get an overview of the area. Went on a free tour of Fox Hollow (2 hrs, 2 miles) that started at this center which was fun and fascinating. Saw a family of deer up close in the woods.
