A friend and I recently made the drive deep into the park and mad the one mile walk up the trail to the camp. Set at roughly an altitude of 8300 feet, we arrived at the beautifully constructed base camp idyllically set to an incredible sunset vista and a four course meal worthy of an an excellent restaurant anywhere. It's a bit of an uphill jaunt to most of the 'tents' which are large canvas structures on a concrete base. All of the bedding is provided and was very comfortable. It really is a happy medium between enjoying the outdoors without the hassle and great meals throughout. There are trails of all levels easily accessed. We spent one day on a 12 mile trek with a great swim and lunch at a beautiful lake set against high rising cliffs at the halfway point. We met other fun fellow travellers in the warm setting. We spent three nights and would return in a heartbeat!
