“Disappointing visit...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2013

Okay place to get some park information. Nothing really amazing to look at. You actually need to take some time with the rangers and hike to get the most out of your visit.

“Good education!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2013

Don't be mislead by this being the "Giant Forest Museum." While there are a few displays inside of the main building, them gems are found in taking time to walk with a ranger on a short hike. You'll learn a lot about the life cycle of the Sequoia tree and about the history of the area. So while there is not much "inside" the main building like other "museums, the information is outside.

I liked being able to "walk the height" of the Sentinel tree. Gave a great perspective! I also liked walking the grounds and learning about the history of this particular area of the park. Am so glad they stopped running it like a hotel in this area and are working to let the grounds "grow back." This is NOT a place to stop if you're hungry!

“Needs a renovation!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

I found this museum to be a huge disappointment. The displays were far too simplistic and repetitive on the point of comparing the size of the trees to other man-made items. A far better stop is the Lodgepole Visitors Center.

“Loved this museum!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2013

This museum is dedicated to the sequoia and does a great job of educating you about these trees. Everything our tour guide told us about the trees, we had learned in the museum. Stop here before you see the main trees. It's guaranteed to add value to your trip and there is no extra charge.

“Meh, only good for park info”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2013

The actual museum is pretty uninspired. Very small, even if you read everything you'd be done in ten minutes.
It's really only good to get info from the staff which is available from any other visitors center.
