“Informative Intro to the Groves”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2012

Go to the Museum before walking the groves. It won't take long a the nuggets of information you glean will make the groves much more interesting. For instance, it takes 91,000 sequoia tree seeds to weigh a pound.

“Nice museum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2012

This was a small but info packed museum. Really cool exhibits like an RV made out of a log and lots of taxidermy/history of the area.

“Wonderful Museum!”

So many great exhibits. Shows you much about the Sequoia National Park, and the trees. Parking is limited, get there early.

“Worth stopping”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2012 via mobile

A small and interesting museum easy to stop at right by the highway with large car park opposite. Worth stopping to learn more about the amazing trees that are all around you.

“Only one issue”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2012

This is really minor but the volunteer at the desk was helping a hiker that was backpacking from Mt Whitney to San Diego. She didn't know about the facilities (shower, laundry, and mail) at Lodge Pole Visitors Center. We visited it later that day and wish we could have informed him...

Nice overview of the Sequoia life cycle and it's symbiotic relationship with fire. It needs fire to germinate and it needs fire to thrive. Only takes about 45 minutes to read every display. A small gift shop about 300 square feet was nicely supplied with everything but food and drink.
