“Comfortable Place, Mediocre Food at Quality Food Prices, OK Service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 14, 2013

The Lodge and the Restaurant are both exceptionally convenient stopping places for Sequoia National Park. If you want a relaxing sit down meal experience, this is about your only option. It is not a bad place to stop in terms of quality, price or selection, but it is nothing to write home about, either. It IS very comfortable and you definitely need to make reservations.

So, don't go in with high expectations and you won't be disappointed, you might even be pleased. Think of it as a convenient, comfortable stop while enjoying the splendor of the Sequoias.

We enjoyed our lunch here during our visit to Sequoia National Park. The food was very good and the service was outstanding. I would recommend eating here during your visit.

“A Mixed Bag”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2013

This restaurant is ranked number 1 in Sequoia because it's really got a monopoly; if one stays at Wuksachi, the only other choice is a small very limited grill at the Lodgepole campground a ten minute drive away. Breakfasts at The Peaks are buffet, with a choice of full or continental. The continental breakfast includes excellent steel cut oatmeal, along with cereals, fruit, juice, bagels, and a variety of muffins. The dinner menu is fairly pricey. There are two pasta dishes, one with beef and one vegetarian. My wife had the pasta with beef chunks, and found the meat gristly and fatty. I had the vegetarian pasta, with butternut squash, whole garlic cloves, and cheese. Both of these entrees were too large by half. I found the cesar salad too "wet" with vinegar. The next night we split a steak dinner ($5 charge to share) that included wild rice and broccolini. That proved a good strategy; the steak was very good and portions were about right. Servers are attentive and accommodating. The vistas of the surrounding forest are great.

“Great place to eat in Sequoia National Park!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 26, 2013

Sequoia National Park is a must. It is a natural wonder with old trees (I mean, really old trees) and really big trees (I mean, really big trees), and great hiking (like Moro Rock). While traveling through the park, my wife and I stopped at the Peak restaurant at the Wuksachi Lodge. What a great place to eat. Great food, great service in a great lodge environment overlooking the forest. If you're hungry and looking for a great meal, be sure to stop at the Peaks at the Wuksachi Lodge. You will be in for a treat. Enjoy.

“Enjoy the Food & the View”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 20, 2013

Great restaurant. The Chef produces some amazing meals at this secluded location. Specials for dinner everyday; and any of the soups are super, but Potato was my favorite. Desserts are not to be missed either. Make reservations for dinner in advance of arrival. Every table has a good view of the woods/mountains.
