This restaurant is ranked number 1 in Sequoia because it's really got a monopoly; if one stays at Wuksachi, the only other choice is a small very limited grill at the Lodgepole campground a ten minute drive away. Breakfasts at The Peaks are buffet, with a choice of full or continental. The continental breakfast includes excellent steel cut oatmeal, along with cereals, fruit, juice, bagels, and a variety of muffins. The dinner menu is fairly pricey. There are two pasta dishes, one with beef and one vegetarian. My wife had the pasta with beef chunks, and found the meat gristly and fatty. I had the vegetarian pasta, with butternut squash, whole garlic cloves, and cheese. Both of these entrees were too large by half. I found the cesar salad too "wet" with vinegar. The next night we split a steak dinner ($5 charge to share) that included wild rice and broccolini. That proved a good strategy; the steak was very good and portions were about right. Servers are attentive and accommodating. The vistas of the surrounding forest are great.
