“Disappointing.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2013 via mobile

Was hoping for a decent take out sandwich. The meat was little round processed lunch meat a la Subway style. Tomatoes were not nice. All in all a disappointing sandwich. Save yourself and buy sandwich fixings in the market and make them yourself.

“Quite good in this remote location.....”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2012

The Watchtower Deli is one of two counters serving fast food in the Lodgepole Campground area of Sequoia National Park. We bought our sandwiches and sat in at the tables directly opposite.

Where the alternate counter offered BBQ or hot fast food this deli specialised in made to order sandwiches, wraps, salads and for dessert - ice cream. You don’t have to wait around for something to be made, as there is literally dozens of pre – packed varieties for your backpack.

All items start from around $4.00 and up - so affordable in this remote location – payment is cash or they accept credit cards.
We were heading to Crystal Caves after picking up the tickets at the tour desk here and we had to eat ahead of our tour which about 45 - 60 min away (no food services at the caves).

The choices and fillings were varied and tasted good for the middle of a National Park; there are also healthy fruits, a few snacks and juices. Next-door is a very well stocked market for other items essential while driving or camping here. Definitely worth giving it a try as there is not a lot else within the area if you don’t bring your own.

Enjoy your meal!
