“Friendliest place ever!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 days ago NEW

AMAZING STAFF! Kind, helpful, friendly, I'll stay there again just because of them - I felt we made friends within 24 hours of our arrival. Many wore many hats during our stay: from running the reservation desk, to the restaurant and gift shop. Always available, always helpful. Just a rare staff!

We LOVED our room on the rushing river. The only negative thing is that you should be aware the room's walls really are paper thin so you can hear the guests' activities and conversations. Luckily, our neighbors were pretty quiet.

Room Tip: If possible, request an end room so you'll only hear neighbors on one side.

Lovely-lovely casual setting next to a rushing river to calm your soul! Staff were friendly and helpful. Walls too thin. Not for those expecting luxury and pampers. The gift shop/market had good selection of items, from keepsakes, clothes, to decent beer selection. Would love fire pit usable near lodge to sit by the river and a controlled fire.

Room Tip: Lower floor rooms seem like they might be nice.

I’m giving this place a review of 4 only because of its location, which is spectacular.

The lodge itself is a tad underwhelming, but being this far in the middle of nowhere, I didn’t expect much more. The room was dated and cold, and could have been cleaner.

The room was also right under the deck of the lodge's restaurant and we could hear people walking above us quite late into the evening. Also, the room had paper thin walls so we could hear everything next door.

That said, who comes here to stay in a hotel room anyway? The room served its purpose.

great location- right on the kings river. make sure to pay just a little extra to have one of the 3 bottom rooms that face the river. the room was small, clean, and used only for the location. absolutely gorgeous surroundings- the room itself? meh. you can't beat it though. (there isn't much else there!) i didn't like how the restaurant closed early and the check was early- both at around 8pm? or 7pm? i would definitely stay there again and tell anyone going to kings canyon to stay there.

Room Tip: make sure to pay just a little extra to have one of the 3 bottom rooms that face the river

Yes, electricity does go out at times, but who cares. The staff is wonderful and serves up plenty of food from the microwave during these times. The rooms are dated but very clean. Beautiful breezes or a/c. Scenery getting there is definitely worth the trip. This is not a Hyatt, but certainly MUCH better in so many other ways. A real gem and not to be missed for outdoor enthusiasts and well as those who love beautiful scenery.

Great location if you are visiting the cedar grove area of the park. Rooms were big, very clean. Cafeteria was not the greatest ! Though given the remote location of this place, food was pretty cheap. They even provide complimentary coffee during breakfast ! Check in time is 4.00PM. When I visited, there was no one in the reception before 4'o clock. So, make your travel plans accordingly.

We loved it here! It stands in such beautiful location right next to King's river. You can hear the water flowing at night if you keep the window open. Short drive to many awesome trails in Kings Canyon. We spent 3 days here, but we were so sad to leave. We will definitely come back! Snack bar was really yummy and affordable as well. BBQ lunch was delicious! Hope to come back soon!
