I agree with Phil R..Fabulous location, shame about the food, could be better. The hikes and trees and worth the trip and wonderful for every age. Good rooms, nice layout and mostly quiet but a second floor room is recommended. We have visited most National Parks and this one did not disappoint..

Room Tip: Second floor

Loved the great room with large fireplace and sitting areas. We appreciated the tables and chairs because we brought our own picnic dinner. Free bottled water was offered in the great room.

Our room was comfortable and clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

What a shame! The location speaks for itself and the lodge accommodation is excellent following the recent refurbishment but they shouldn't have stopped at the building - the staff need replacing also! The reception was consistently surly but worse was to come from the so called restaurant. The waiters continued the theme of surliness but further didn't know about the dishes. Not surprising when we ended up sending both dishes back - salad consisting of a few leaves and deli meats (questionable as being "off") and a chicken masala "gloop". Other guests returned their similar dishes that night also! On the positive side the lodge lobby area is lovely and the rooms are so comfortable. Let's hope that the operating company complete their refurbishment and bring it up to the superb standards of Wuksachi!

Clean, comfortable and welcoming. Wifi in lobby. Convenient location. Limited services in park but this was good option. Very limited on restaurant options. Would stay here again if visiting park in future.

They don't tell you but there is brewed coffee in the great room if the lodge. The second floor rooms in the forest side provide the best experience. Reservations were available just ahead late spring. Make sure to plan on checking in at 4....they won't let you in the rooms earlier. I would stay here again, but prefer Wusachi in Sequoia when available.

This is a very comfortable place to relax and explore Sequoia and Kings Canyon area. It is a lodge, not a luxury hotel - it is important to make that distinction. It is well above what I expected and I would definitely return. Everyone I encountered was extremely kind.

This was a follow-up visit from a disastrous visit in October. My room was complimentary for two days as was my breakfast due to the experiences in October 2014. High Points- I was handed bottle water as I walked into the patio. The check-in staff was friendly, efficient and handled our request for a second story room with patience. Breakfast buffet was great with pancakes, biscuits, gravy, potatoes, vegetables, fresh fruit, bacon, sausage, two kinds of scrambled eggs, muffins, coffee etc. Low Points- The room itself was a bit oddly decorated. No headboard for the bed and it looked like a sofa was just stuffed in the room for good measure. Very boring and ho-hum bland room. Absolutely no character. Our room was also off the stairs and facility room for housekeeping; therefore, we heard housekeeping talking on walkie- talkies several times from 6-8 p.m. in the hallway. (as no regard for those in resting in their rooms) Another low point was we left for the day from 7:30 a.m. -4:30 and when we came back our room was not cleaned or made up. WE finally called Housekeeping at 5 p.m. and asked for clean towels and supplies. Unheard of in my opinion, when a guest is gone 9 hours and housekeeping can't be bothered to clean a room? Will not be returning as a guest.

Room Tip: Free wi-fi in big room downstairs not in each individual room
