First off - the registration desk is hard to find. It is located in the back of the gift shop just off the main roadway. The only place that actually says "Registration" is a small sign above the desk. We had walked into the gift shop, and then drove up to the lodge itself before we found an employee in a golf cart who sent us to the right spot. When I found to the registration desk and suggested a sign directing people where to check in, the young lady there rudely said "we tell everyone when they make their reservations!" I write an itinerary when I plan trips - address, phone, rate, reservation#, restaurants & notes. Nothing about hidden registration desks there. Of course my registration was made 6 months prior. Perhaps it slipped my mind. but a note to the management: If you have to include these instructions to guests, maybe you need better signage. DO NOT under any circumstances rudely suggest that it's the customers fault when it is clearly yours. TWO: The lodge itself is poorly constructed. If someone walks in any hallway, you hear it. If they walk near your room, you feel it. If someone flushes a toilet, you hear the water running. If the room next to yours takes a shower at 3am (ours did), you can actually hear the water running down the drain. Our door was poorly hung. To latch it I had to lean against it. To turn the deadbolt I had to lift it - didn't anyone try to turn the deadbolt before they signed off on it? I chose this place because we spent 4 night at Curry Village, and this time I wanted a room w/a shower. The shower while clean was set up for a person 4'6" high. I had to duck down to rinse anything above my chest. And on top of that the bedspread had a large hole in it. The location is excellent, but I would suggest researching alternatives before booking here. At $185 a night, the only good thing is the location and bathroom in each room.
