Recently visited the Grant Grove of big Sequoia's and really enjoyed our walk. Trails were a bit slippery due to ice so be ready if the weather is cold and snowy!
This well-maintained trail wanders through a grove of HUGE Sequoia trees. General Grant is the 2nd largest in the area, General Sherman being the largest by volume. Both are about 36 ft. in diameter and 200+ ft tall. Lovely area.
But we found we enjoyed Big Tree Trail even more than this one. Be prepared for a lot of tourists and big groups.
The place is awe-inspiring. Bring a camera. It's a good workout, too. The trail is safe enough for kids.
If you like big trees then this is the place for you. All wrapped up in one trail. Really these trees can be seen all over the park; but its nice to see a lot of them in one location.
