“Simply Amazing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2014

Don't just go to look at this tree, but if you do it's worth it! Magnificent! Such awe when you stand and think about it's mass and all that it has been through in 2,000 years! The drive to the grove is through scruff lands, desert like, just amazing when you actually get to the grove of sequoias! We walked Congress Loop Trail which is near General Sherman's Tree. Nice short walk through gigantic trees! Helps you get a better perspective since you can actually stand beside them. A must see for nature lover's!

“Beautiful hike thru the forest”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2014

Vehicles with handicap tags and park shuttles can park at the base of the mountain very near the tree with little walking required; however, private cars will have to park in the lot up on top of the mountain. It's a beautiful 1/2 mile hike on a paved walkway down to the tree as long as you know you're in shape to hike the steep incline back uphill at mountain elevations. Wish we would've had time to take the Congress trail as well.

“Nice Little Hike”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2014

This was a nice little hike, the kids enjoyed it. It's short but a little exhausting for the kids and those who might carry a little more weight than others. There are beautiful sights to see though. Would highly recommend.

“Huge!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2014

We parked at the upper level lot and walked the trail down. It is a pretty steep trail, but nice to see a deer lying in the trees. There is a lower lot that I wish we would have found beforehand. I recommend the lower lot unless you want to take the steep walk upwards after viewing the tree. The tree is massive...it should be as it is the largest (by volume) tree in the world.

“A must see”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2014 via mobile

The trees are so amazing, a must see and touch. Surprisingly the trees outer layer is so soft. The drive alone is so peaceful and fresh. Great for the whole family.
