“It is what it is.”

Well worth going to have a look at. A little tip for anyone who doesn't want to walk back up the track to the car park..... Catch the free bus from the disabled car park back to the main car park. The walk up is a little strenuous due to the altitude.

“Beautiful walk”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2013

It was a bit crowded around the tree itself, but then if you go on the congress loop, you can just enjoy the forest entirely. It's a nice easy trail as well, the hardest part is to go back up to the parking lot, it's THAT easy. Along the trail you can enjoy different trees that have been named, but the forest itself is too see and especially to smell. Along your walk you will smell the pines resin, hear the birds and maybe even see marmots!

“Beware of the 2 mile walk”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2013

I wanted to see the forest while passing through California, I was hoping that we could just drive through and see it. Unfortunately the website did not warn you that you would have to hike and see it. I should have read trip advisor. It also takes 2 hours to drive through the park because it is on steep mountain roads and you have to dive slow so beware. No one warned me. The view was a very pretty drive but if you are on a time schedule be very aware.

“Huge tree!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2013

Huge tree! You must say hi to the general while in this national park.Give you plenty of time to do the General trail (at least one hour roundtrip). You can see other cool trees on this trail. Go early to avoid crowds.

“What A Tree”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2013

This is a big tree. No one should tear down this sucker. The only thing I was disappointed about this one was, it didn't look like the tallest tree in the world on earth or something. But we still enjoyed visiting the tree.
