“Who knew it was there?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

Hume Lake was absolutely gorgeous, completely tucked away. The whole place is a series of Christian camps, so it would be a day destination if you're staying anywhere else in the park.

“Hme Lake, Giant Sequoia National Monument”

Large Church camp there, facilities, but the lake is just a nice peaceful place to be in summer. Fishing, boating.

“Boat Rentals at Hume Lake Christian Camps”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2013

There is boat rentals available at Hume Lake Christian Camps at 64144 Hume Lake Rd. (I'm not sure if they open during the winter time.) It's right across from the gas station, US post office and the gift shop.

My husband, my kids (7&11) and I rented a row boat and had a blast!! The boat rental runs only for $15/hour (as of summer 2012. --$20 minimum charge for a "motor" boat rental) -- No membership necessary. The park pass, a photo ID and a $50 deposit w/credit card were required when we signed on the waver. The life jackets and a pair of oars were provided up on check-in.
The staff there were nice and friendly.

We were on the boat for about an hour and it was so relaxing and refreshing. The mountain view from the lake was spectacular! Bring your hats and a plenty of sun screen lotion as there is no shade on the boat :)

*Note - The boat house closes on Sundays between 10:15am and 1:45pm --probably for the staff to attend Sunday services. They will be back to the office at 1:45pm.

“Beautiful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2012

The beauty of this place is breath taking. If you are afraid of heights, be sure to take an anxiety pill before driving up. Otherwise, it is a nice change of pace. Definately plan on going back
