“Moro Rock”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2013

Once in the NP you can take a shuttle bus, which is regular to Moro Rock. This is well worth a visit and the walk up the rock is a little scary if you have vertigo like me, but very safe and the views at the top are stunning.

We visited in September so the weather was still hot and sunny, so required a lot of water.

“Incredible views!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 22, 2013

We visited the second week in March, when the road was still closed. The road was fine for walking, about 75% bare pavement and 25% thin corn snow. The several hundred steps up the rock were almost completely clear of snow. Beautiful view of the valley in one direction, and the snow-covered Sierras in the other.

“Great Hike and Marvelous Photography”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

Ideally come early in the morning, or like I did, mid to late afternoon. The light does some magical things along the trail, and you will soon find yourself snapping photos of the same scene, though looking completely different just a few minutes apart, as the light dances across the horizon, casting long tree shadows as it traverses the breathtaking scene.

The hike isn't too bad at all, though you are at some altitude, so be mindful that you may feel it a bit. Rustic and primitive, but well marked and maintained trails, should offer you reasonable comfort and safety. Definitely a must do!

“Spectacular, truly 5 star”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 18, 2013

A mile high!
But you can park ten minutes from the top. Loved it. Still looked great even when so cloudy we could not see any ground.
An absolute must. Do it!

“Takes your breath away”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2013

This spectacular outcropping hangs over the Central Valley like a stone sentinel, affording forever views. Be in shape aerobically though, as the couple of hundred feet up a steep path and stairs can seem like a mile at that elevation. Once on top, ejoy seeing from the Sierra Crest to the valley below. Wonderful!
