It's amazing the see all of the beautiful large trees. A great sight to see and would recommend to anyone.

“Awesome trees but Terribly maintained facilities”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2014 via mobile

The trees are awesome and the trails are great through the forest. However, the NP facilities are very outdated, worn, and filthy. The bathrooms are absolutely disgusting.

I'm very disappointed that our park service has let the public down with a national treasure.

“National treasure”

If I had more time I would have spent it exploring more of the Giant Forest. Explore beyond the paved path on the additional hiking trails. These trees are amazing.

“Unbelievable!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2014

The Giant Sequoias are such a majestic sight to behold! The forest is huge, you can walk for hours without encountering any humans, as soon as you walk slightly away from General Sherman (the largest tree on earth at this point). There are wild bears, wild deer, it's just one of the most magical places on earth!

“Peace, serenity and a loss of scale”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2014

We recently enjoyed a month long road trip around CA, NV, UT and AZ. We saw a lot of wonderful things, including the Grand Canyon, but now we are reflecting we have decided that the highlight if our trip was the Giant Forest - yes the Grand Canyon is vast and awe inspiring but the trees seem to be alive. They seem to instil a unique calming influence and you soon loose perspective of their immense size. We could have stayed for much longer.

If you make the jaunt downhill to see the General Sherman tree, then avoid a chest-busting climb back by taking the free shuttle one-stop back to the top of the trail.
