“Don't miss it”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2013

We were staying in Sequoia park. But we decided to do the scenic byway. That was really a good idea. The views are fantastic and there are not as many tourists. We were entirely alone when we stopped at the roaring river fall. We then hiked Zumwalt meadow. That walk is not difficult and a dream for pictures' lovers.

“Absolutely Spectacular”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2013

the sights on the drive are AWESOME! I would recommend using the turnouts often to take in the views; perhaps different drivers for each leg so the "driver" can enjoy the scenery. Because of the dry conditions, we were able to take a dip in the waterfall pool which was totally outstanding and something to brag about. But beware - the water was very cold!

“Well worth the trip”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2013

We wanted to get away from the crowds and decided to see parts of the Park that may not get as much attention. We drove east on Route 180 from Grant Grove Village and went as far aw Zumwalt Meadow. The 30 mile drive was well worth it. We saw waterfalls, the rolling waters of the Kings River, the spectacular granite cliffs and the beautiful Zumwalt Meadows.

“Super scenic canyon road”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2013

Continuous curves and high altitudes with incredible views of 5000 ft granite canyon and river below. Plenty of turnouts to take it slow and you will likely take many photos. Expect to average 20 mph max.

“Spectacular Drive!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 3, 2013

Take the time to drive to the end of the road. The scenery enroute changes drastically and the views are excellent. It is only 30 miles from Grant Village but just driving will take you more then an hour. Lots of hairpin turns and switchbacks. At the end, you can do a hike or 2 or cool off in the stream. There is a ranger at the end with good advice on hikes.
