Alpine Visitor Center is near the midpoint of a one day trip through Rocky Mountain National Park. Today we discovered a 99% full parking lot, an active visitor’s center, modern comfort stations, neat shops, and a food court “dining area.”
Alpine Visitor Center is perfectly located and staffed by pros and summer hires who maintain a great attitutude despite some adverse situations.
For those who object to the food court concept, there are great restaurants in Ganby or Estes Park. We’ll bet 95% of the foreign and national public is looking for a 5 minute cafeteria which offers fantastic views.
Most folks are ok with the minimalist food court approach, and are eager to do some hiking, biking, and animal watching. We rate Alpine Visitor Center 10/10. OK, we do like El Torvar at the Grand Canyon.
