“This is a beautiful drive and a great way to see RMNP”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 21, 2013

This is a great drive and a great way to see what Rocky Mountain National Park has to offer. You drive all the way above timberline and can stop at a resataraunt / shop at the top. If you continue all the way to Grand Lake your in for a real treat. awsome little town with cool shops, good restaraunts, great campgrounds and close to lake Granby.

“Top of the World”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 21, 2013

The road had just opened for the summer (the first week of June). It was not terribly crowded at the pull-offs to view the scenery. The views were amazing. Seeing alpine tundra is a rare sight to appreciate. It was hard to catch our breath because of the altitude at the top and it was cold. It was well worth the time it took to drive over the continental divide. We decided to return to Estes Park going south around the mountain instead of back using Trail Ridge Road. That was a mistake. It took about 2.5-3 hours compared to 1.5 hours to use the Trail Ridge Road. We saw marmot at the top of the mountain and we saw many birds that were new to us. We saw a moose on the western side of the mountain grazing in a wetland along the road. It was well worth the time traveling the Trail Ridge Road and I'd heartily recommend it, especially if it's a clear day.

“Gorgeous Scenic Drive”

I would definitely drive this highway! The views are amazing, plus you see a variety of ecosystems! Plus, moose often frequent the west side!

“Oh, the scenery!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2013

Trail Ridge Road was a bit scary at times with the switchbacks, steep sided roads with no guardrails, and hairpin curves, but the views are so stunning, you quickly forget how scary it is. My husband did the driving, and my advice is just to take your time, enjoy the scenery and relax. We only drove to just before Grand Lake since we were a bit short on time. We walked out to the edge at Rock Cut. There was still snow on parts of the path, so you had to step carefully. The view you got was just breath-taking!! The highest point had not been cleared totally of snow yet, so we could not hike it. So many stops, wonderful photo ops...

“Old Fall River Road”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2013

Heading up the original road to the Alpine Center is the best. Views at the top and down Trail Ridge Rd. are very enjoyable.
