My husband and I stayed in one of the camping cabins for $64 a night (tax included) for three nights while we toured the park. We also had to pay $10 for linens for the bed - which DID NOT include towels. The only thing we liked about the place was the location. It's right on the banks of Lake Crescent and has a magnificent view.

There was a "comfort station" about 50 ft away from our cabin that was almost nothing. There was one shower and you have to put quarters in it to use it! Very annoying to have the water go off when you have soap all over your face to have to then go over and put another quarter in. There was also no soap at the sink to wash your hands and the hand dryer didn't work. Bad comfort station.

The cabins and the camp itself is practically crammed together. You have no privacy. We were kept up late by the late nighters sitting outside their RVs (which were right behind our cabin) drinking. The cabins are right next to each other so there really is no privacy.
For a tiny cabin with no bathroom or linens or any other amenities besides walls, it was of poor quality and not worth the $64/night we paid for it. It was little better than tent camping.

Log Cabin Resort is great for families RVing with kids to ride their bikes around and swim in the lakes. But for people wanting a quiet, yet comfortable place in the wilderness to get away from things and relax, I would not recommend it.

This is a wonderful location, but the cabins are falling apart. We stayed in an A frame cabin that was pretty much like camping for a couple hundred dollars. It would be cheaper to pitch a tent, and you would have the same views of the lake.
THe kids had a great time until my son was bitten by a huge carpenter ant in the cabin. There are ants and bugs crawling thru the cabin, our water heater flooded, and the staff acted like this happens everyday.
We had a great time even though it is overpriced for rundown cabins.

We have been staying at the Log Cabin Resort each summer for the past
thirty years as the Lake and the mountains are so majestic -the most beautiful in the entire world. The air is so clear and scented with the smell of cedar. So pristine. We are getting more and more disappointed that the A-frames are not being kept updated.The prices keep going up, but there is very little little maintainance going on in the chalets. Last year when we arrived we had to clean our way in and there was no smell of a clean chalet. This shouldn't be and the chalet smelled of mildew. All chalets need new mattress - the ones we slept on were so hard and worn out that it was extremely hard to get a good nights rest. Also need new feutons - new tables and chairs. The shower floor needed to be repaired instead of putting a piece of tape over the bumps in the floor. Also new flooring.
Please update the cabins and A-frames as we would like to continue to come and visit our Lake. We are people that do not like complaining. I won't refer Log Cabin to any of my friends until you take care of the maintainence of the chalet. I had people complain to me that stayed there from Michigan - the same thing. New mattresses are needed badly.

Just returned from another wonderful vacation to Olympic National Park's Log Cabin Resort. The area (itself) is unsurpassed in its beauty, and Log Cabin is a perfect property for those who don't need/want frivolous, artificial amenities. (If you need cable TV and turn-down service, this is not your place ....) The lake -- as well as the spectacular Olympic National Park -- is the star here. After enjoying a day of swimming, hiking, reading, playing games, or just plain relaxing, you can enjoy dinner in the lodge or kick back in front of your A-frame and wait for the stars to come out. The staff is not only cordial, they seem to understand that this is the special type of family resort that kids will want to take their kids to, when they grow up. Enjoy a resort like this while you still can.
