“The Best Skiing/Riding in Washington! Period!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2012

If you are a skier or rider in Washington and the season has started, Crystal is THE place to go! Fantastic terrain and long runs that can challenge even the pros (Crystal is a stop on the Jr. Freeride Tour and hosts Pro snowboard comps as well), super nice Campbell Basin Lodge (also must visits; The Snorting Elk - across the foot bridge to Alpine Inn and The Summit House which is the highest elevated restaurant in Washington and has a very cool view of Mt. Rainier), fast lifts, and the state's only gondola all await those who love a great skiing/riding adventure. Even though the patrollers do the best job in the state with marking hazards and with avy control, there are plenty of cliffs and lots of tree wells so be careful. Please make sure to pay attention to the warning signs and lift area difficulty ratings - this is "no joke" terrain The lift accessed sidecountry areas are some of the best anywhere and if you are an expert the High Campbell and Northway lifts are a must. Even so, there are tamer areas for beginners and intermediates, and the groomers are well taken care of. Moreover, having the longest season of any place in Washington (late November until July when possible!) there's plenty of time to shred it up! It's an easy and beautiful drive on a road that hardly ever closes. Stop by the little town of Greenwater on the way back and get a souvenir. Can you tell I like this place? You will too, guaranteed!

“Yes, there can be good skiiing in Washington state.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2012

When you hit the weather right, the terrain and lift system reminds me of the newer back bowls at Vail. Wait for a storm and cold weather, and head there expecting great skiiing. About 3 hours from Seattle after a snowstorm if you have traction tires.

“Heaven for Ski lovers.. worth going in winters during snow only.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2012

I visited this place with my family and friends but was a real disappointment as this place is only for Ski lovers that too during Snow. Other than Ski this place has nothing. I visited when there was no Snow and nothing much exciting as a Nature lover too. Good place for hiking in this time (Aug - Sep) as it was no rain, no cold, very nice weather.

Hiking lovers - Jul to Sep
Ski lovers - Nov - Mar

Overall Average as there was not much for me and my family to do here.

“Gondola-Mt Ranier”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2012

WOW! If you really want to see Mt Ranier you need to take a ride on the new Gondola. It is a 10 minute ride to the top and costs 20 dolllars. It is worth the price! If you get a chance take the free ranger walk. Our ranger was Ian and he was fantastic and had great information!

“breathtaking”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2012

We rode the gondola up to top of Crystal. What a fantastic experience. I was apprehensive about the gondola at first secondary to fear of heights. I soon forgot about my fear as well as did I when we reached the top and saw Mt. Rainier right in front of us. I was in awe. I was very saddened when it was time to go. I look forward to taking this trip again.
