I booked this B&B based on the website...and all expectations were exceeded. Steve and Scott have created an incredible getaway...the site, architecture, interior design, and incredible breakfasts all fuse together as a one-of-a-kind art piece in the hands of these wonderful hosts. Their knowledge of the art and culture of the area and advice on the state park guarantee that your stay will be more eventful then you planned. This is the best B&B experience I have ever enjoyed

Quite simply an incredible experience. My girlfriend and i stayed for two nights and Sacred Sands exceeded our expectations. The setting and views are spectacular, the hospitality and breakfasts amazing - everything has been done very well. The room was exceptional, with a fabulous outside terrace. Scott and Steve were perfect hosts; friendly, helpful and attentive but never overbearing. Our stay left us feeling completely relaxed and in awe of the surroundings; we thoroughly recommend the Joshua Tree Park. Get up early, explore the park and then come back to a very tasty home made breakfast and one of the best B&B's we've stayed in.

Outstanding
Excellent
Extraordinary

It was difficult to decide on a superlative to title this review. We finally decided on sublime: "elevated in nature or style".

There are three things which conspire to make this a more than ordinary experience:

1) Joshua Tree itself. The park and surroundings are magnificent in their own right;

2) The imagination, style sense and personal warmth of the hosts, and;

3) The realization of numbers 1 and 2 above in a unique and beautiful Inn.

The attention to detail is extraordinary. During the two days that we stayed at Sacred Sands, my wife and I were constantly discovering details about the room or the patio which delighted us: The outdoor showers on a hot desert afternoon, the view from the two person hottub at night (brilliant stars and the mountains outlined against the sky), the perfect placement of the window across from our bed - showing something new from sunrise to after sunset.

I really could go on and on, but suffice to say that we have stayed at some of the best reviewed hotels and inns in the world, including some that have made the various top ten lists on this site (most romantic, etc.), and Sacred Sands is without doubt in the same class.

Do yourself a favor and book a room before they are "discovered", and booking becomes impossible.

We drove throughThe Mohave Preserve to get from LasVegas to Joshua Tree in California as suggested by our hosts Scott and Steve.This was the beginning of an exceptional experience; the wonderful hosts, the eco-friendly accomodations, the organic breakfasts and a private spa area off our bedroom to soak in a hottub, easing sore muscles from hiking,while watching the stars.

I almost forgot to mention the proximity to the real reason we went to the High Desert Area of California. We went to see and hike in Joshua Tree Park. Sacred Sands is only 1mile from one of the Park's entrances.

We travel to Las Vegas every year for my husband's work conference. I'm already figuring out how to get Sacred Sands on the itinerary again! I know I will.

What an amazing stay. The straw bale building that the rooms are housed in are beautiful and comfortable. The hot tub is great, and you can gaze at the stars. The innkeepers have thought of every detail and everything is very eco-friendly. The breakfast each day was wonderful. They are more than happy too accommodate any dietary restrictions. It is so nice to have a full breakfast at a B&B instead of the ubiquitous continental spread. The innkeepers are also extremely friendly and happy to help you plan your day. We can't say enough about how great the entire experience was, and we can't wait to go back.

My wife and I stayed at Sacred Sands for 3 nights in mid-March and we had a truly memorable experience. It’s been almost 2 months since we were there and we’re still talking about what an incredible find this B&B was. Meeting Scott and Steve was a highlight of our trip to Joshua Tree. They were both kind and considerate hosts who anticipated what your needs were before you even asked. They were great conversationalists – engaging but never intrusive – who were a wealth of knowledge about the surrounding area. Breakfasts were creative and healthy – the best we’ve ever had at any B&B! Whether we dined with other guests or just in the company of Scott and Steve, we enjoyed trading stories about their lives, our hikes, or anything under the sun.

And can we talk about the rooms? Ours was impossibly stylish and exquisitely appointed with unique furniture (a Morrocan lamp, a church pew bench, a tree stump end table) and sumptuous bedding. The strawbale walls gave the room a cozy, and yes, glittery appeal. The bathroom was exactly as advertised: a walk-in river-rock shower with faucets coming from every direction. It was also immaculately clean, and passed the muster of my incredibly fastidious wife. Our back patio was a glory of desert scenery. We lunched on the meditation platform, and retreated to the hot tub with a bottle of wine after a long day of hiking. Most of all, we felt a real sense of peace and tranquility at Sacred Sands.

Just a few minutes down the hill, the town of Joshua Tree was a charming few blocks devoid of chain stores and ugly development. On the advice of Scott and Steve we had excellent and authentic Thai food (we’re Thai, but watch out for the “number 5” level spiciness), great burgers at Crossroads Café and Tavern, and tasty Indian take-out from Sam’s Pizza (for real). The National Park west entrance was only a mile up the road from Sacred Sands, which made our B&B the ideal base for exploring the Coachella Valley.

Thanks Scott and Steve! We hope to return some day soon.
