Yes that's correct, we took the tour on Sat March 9. the only 2 Aussies on this trip. beautiful sunrise. So got engaged whilst up there. BLOODY COLD THOUGH. -1c. We took this tour, because from the advert speil it seemd to be more relaxed and 'user friendly.' however, with the experience of one of our other tour participants coming to greif just above the tree line, it became apparent that a 'fully guided' downhill bike tour is probalby the safer option. Yes, we guess lucky for our tour companion that we were at the rear of 'group' that we found her on the side of the road with a decent gash above the left eye. Luckily and thankfully a fully guided tour group pulled over upon us waving them down. they had a good first aid kit, and ph to ring 911. As myself and Lynn had no idea of exactly where we were. this group also called our tour office to advise, to which the young lady on ph did not seem to comprehend the gravity of the problem. tHaleakala Bike Co did get back up the mountain to meet us, but eventhen, did not seem to know what was required of them to give releif to the situation. Aslo must admit that this did rattle. In saying all of this. it was a fantastic experience. would recomend doing this type of tour. just consider who with. did not realise the distance from the 'bottom' back to the bike sheds. would recommend next time a fully guided group so that can easily retreat to commuter bus if requierd.
